    Morning Gals and Gents,

Feeling a bit Yuggy :(- tired. achey & bit muddled. Many flushes y'day.

Bought a whiteboard y'day. Have always wanted one & spent £10 in Rymans for a biggish one. It's where you can write endless lists & wipe clean. It's brilliant :D. Can make separate lists for work, shopping, pending, To Do, Xmas etc.

Just found a piece of plastic in my Breakfast bread (tesco). Yuck!! good job I didn't bite on it. could have broken a tooth. Can I be bothered to complain.... probably.

Bronnie - Ah, draining people. Funnily enough I've been pulling away from a friend who talks obsessively about her endless health problems, repeating it all to everyone she meets. She has NO other conversation. I've politely listened for years & something in me now says NO. She is desperately phoning & emailing me to try & get me to visit. I just don't have the energy for her any more.

Getting colder. Cosy up to something warm, an OH, pet, woodstove, hot water bottle or a Meno having a flush. :rotfl:

    Hi {{{{{{Joyful}}}}} - Sorry you're a bit fragile today.

Re the bread. A couple of years back we found some metal in Tesco's bread, like a bit of pan scourer. We took it back & wrote a few letters as we got no response.
We did get a reply after about 5 months & I phoned up a few times & got some vouchers, but I was a bit shocked as someone could have eaten it - they should have withdrawn the batch until they found out what was amiss. They blamed the people who cleaned the bread maker. Next time I'll go to Trading Standards - which sounds bit strident but I was made to feel slightly criminal when I complained about the bread & kept insisting on answers as to how the metal had got in the bread.

Do you all think that we have a bit of a deep think at this time & reconsider who is & who isn't important in our lives? Not that I have many in my life but I just can't stand wind up merchants. And seem to be getting even less tolerant..........
I think this wearing purple hats & taking things back to the shops is all rather liberating..........
Well it's dreich today. I think I'll do very little - so there......

    Have a good one all.

Hi folks - hope you are feeling a bit better tonight joyfull. Love the idea of a white board. What a plan! Lists!! That's definitely the way to go:dance:.
Choille - how are you now that you have had some time pass since the dentist trip? (goodness that's a long winded way to ask how your teeth are). It's cold here so it must be freezing with you. Don't blame you not doing too many outside jobs.
Had veggie stirfry for my tea, along with half a pack of that nutritious stuff...no, not brown organic rice although i do have it in the cupboard - its speedier pal B*tchelors savoury rice . Nice and handy. Put in loads of garlic and ginger yum yum, some turmeric because it is so good for you, and a good shake of chilli flakes to fight all known germs. Good sloosh of soya sauce. Fab.
Keep looking at my list of things to do that are rewarding. Even rubbed nice oil into my feet earlier - thanks to you I think Bronnie who mentioned looking after yourself. Listened to some Larry Adler -21 soulful toonies to make me smile.
Did a bit of Christmas shopping this afternoon. Was environmentally aware and took the bus instead of driving. Ah but i could have walked it in 25 mins - chose not to though as didn't want to get soaked :p. Got some things so that's good. Stopped for...coffee? No!!....for a vitamin C smoothie with extra stress relief potion at the juice bar. This is my treat to myself these days. Have had 2 in the last week so not a serious habit. In fact I've only had these 2 so far this year but i do think it gives me a blast of fruit.
What goodies are you all eating?

Feel a bit uncomfie dental wise, but i suppose that's to be expected.

Really moonlit outside & went for a mini walk earlier, but there's a frost about.

I'm on mince wmf, soft mushy food still. I sawed some thin trees down today. I wish I had a bath but I will one day & hope to get a spa one - that's the idea in any case.
    Your food sounds great wmf.
Hope you all get a good sleep.

    Hi everyone...

Hope you've all had a good day!...I did get over the allotment:j...just to put down some thick cardboard to stop the dreaded weeds. So it wasn't too energetic.

No rain today here...so far...although the 'lottie was very muddy indeed!

I've been using Wilkinsons rescue oil for ages..seems to make my skin feel nice and soft...I put it on last thing at night...by the morning its soaked in to my skin.

I've not been feeling too bad now for a while..fingers crossed it stays that way...I hate feeling all muddled and old.

Its also freezing here tonight...wrap up everyone and have a restful night.;)

choille, things will feel better day by day I'm sure. it's such a strange feeling when something changes in your mouth, I think I chipped a teeny bit off the corner of a tooth the other day and it took about 5 days to get used to how it feels now, so be patient!

joyfull, know what you mean about the draining friend thing. I had a similar experience about 10 years ago. I really don't want to deal with it any more. In fact if I'm honest I find I back off quite a bit now from people who want too much of me or want to get too much into my life. Does that sound weird/ selfish? After all the years of being responsible for home, kids, parents, work etc, I want to feel unfettered and do my own thing! My oldest friend is from childhood and although we don't see each other that often now, when we do we just pick up where we left off, she knows I'm there for her, but we respect each other's space too. We're not needy of each other I suppose, just value and love the other person for who they are.

wmf you sound like you're packing in the vitamins which is a good plan at this time of year. I'm trying to lose a couple of pounds this week as I'm actually out on Saturday (with aforementioned old friend and others!) !! FANFARE!! First Saturday off for a year, apart from hols, but that's business!

Dogcat, glad you're having a better few days.

Watching I'm a Celebrity Jungle nonsense tonight and thinking Gillian Mc Keith should maybe reconsider her "You Are What You Eat" nutritional theories. She looks like she could do with a big plate of beef stew, followed by a rice pudding. I've got her book somewhere, I don't think she does dairy or meat.

    Hi all,

Went to the hospital today...as I haven't been for a while about my UC (Ulcerative Colitis). The reason I haven't been going is because the meds that I was on were making me feel worse than I was without them...and also the consultant only had appointments in the afternoon, when I had to pick up my daughter..she was younger then.
Anyway I went...had to have four tubes of blood taken:(...and....I've got to have a camera to investigate both ends.....in a couple of weeks. The consultant says that he thinks it may be getting worse and the pain in my foot and wrist could be related to the UC...really not looking forward to this at all. I don't know...all this on top of the meno....

Hope you've all had a good day so far.

    Hello Folks,

Dogcat - UC sounds nasty. This getting older business is not pretty. Do hope you can stay somewhat relaxed about it all.

Choille - I admire the way you've handled the teeth stuff. Just get on with things rather than dwell on the discomfort seems to be your recipe. I think we had a full moon y'day. I love the moon, but it sometimes keeps me awake.

wmf - your posts make me hungry. My food is somewhat functional. Because my system is v sensitive and since all my teeth trouble I pretty much stick to a soft, balanced and fairly fibrous diet and eat the same stuff each week. Sounds boring to most people, but I'm fine with it and it means that 'things' ;) keep moving & the shopping list never varies.

Bronnie - hope your car woes are getting sorted. The draining friends thing is interesting. I think maybe some of us become more self reliant as we age which means we're less needy and therefore don't feel compelled to stay in cloying 'friendships'.

Had a huge clearout in the last day or so. Got boxes & bags of books & stuff to go to charity shop and to a friend whose selling at a boot fair. I'm a bit of a hoarder, comes from being ultra frugal & always thinking 'I'll need it someday'. Well it needed sorting & I feel much better for it.:j

MS tip :money:- & I'm a bit embarrassed to admit this one :o I cut up old Xmas cards to make gift tags for xmas pressies. Cringe... Cannot bear to see all these pretty things made from trees just being binned.

Felt really grim y'day, exhausting flushes - felt almost ill. Today, much better, what a difference. Making a point to drink hot cinnamon and ginger regularly.

Do hope there are some lurkers enjoying reading this thread. Seems just a few of us posting these days.

Hi all, sorry not to be a regular on this thread, but I have been reading. Really busy at work, too many kids with discipline issues to deal with unfortunately. Feeling much better this last two weeks, I could say this is due to the supplements but actually I havent got into the routine of taking them yet, and am a bit hit an miss with them so it cant be that. I think it is just that I have been less worried about every twinge being terminal....and accepted that this is my lot for the near future. Or it may be the release obtained from the unexpected period after a 6 month gap....who knows.

Anyway, can you believe Christmas is so near....where has the time gone. Xmas shopping to do, although I dibuy a lot in last years sales, so less than usual to buy.

Hope you are al lfeeling better, some of you really seem to have a rough deal with the Meno on top of other health issues. Be kind to yourselves and take it easy.

Now that's interesting poet123 as i feel a bit more like 'me' these last few days and I have the 1st period since Aug. Mostly I am so relieved that the b00b tenderness is easing and I no longer have to take painkillers for it before bed, although i AM still taking them but for the period cramps. I was thinking about it this morning, as you do, and thinking on one hand i feel 'normal' ( what a word eh??) and am glad, on the other I wondered if this will set me back ...hhmmm can't explain. Just mean that while i was tramping (and sometimes) moaning my way through meno, although peri-meno, now blow me down with a feather I feel I have to start it all over again. just need a bit of a shift in thinking in this one. I know it's all part of it. Will practise going with the flow (unfortunate phrase ATM).
Dogcat - sorry to hear you are going through this. Thinking of you.

Ok warm friends....I am going to leave you with this thought...
I'm going to the pub in less than an hour hoooorah. Only for 2 glasses but it will be scrum diddley um.
    W
ps Joyfull - I'm with you on the Christmas tag thing but we moved house last Dec 18th and this yr is first time i've actually bought tags as had no cards to cut up. What did I do with them???
