Hope we all have a good day today, don't stretch yourselves too far...and try not to worry about anything, because the least little thing can blow out of proportion when you don't feel 'quite right'.
Some helpful words here, thanks!
I'm feeling very strange and jittery this morning too. My mobile just rang, it was on the glass coffee table and i nearly jumped out of my skin and tearful????? I put it down to the car bump and also feeling really fed up at the prospect of more stuff to sort out. I feel like burying my head in the computer to block it all off, but that's no help. Don't really have anyone I unburden to, although my sis (who don't really see much) was emailing helpfully last night.
Cuddlymarm, hi :T . I am totally at one with your be kind to yourself advice. That is totally my way too!
Thanks for the wishes ladies, my birthday not til Thursday but now I'm feeling like I can't be bothered to bother about it when I feel like this. DD will insist though , no doubt, bless!
joyfull, I love the veggie stew thing. I make it and tend to eat it everyday til it's gone! Sometimes I do a root veg one, sometimes curried or if I can pick up whoopsied aubergines or courgettes do a ratatouille type one. Like you say, very versatile! I bought some frozen cooked soya beans in Tesco and am throwing a handful of those into casseroles. Every little helps as they say. Ooh yes and the other day I made some hummus. It was gorg, just shoved everything in the processor, easy peasy. I bought tinned chick peas as wasn't sure it was very MS to cook smallish quantities of dried for 1 and a half hours. Large tins of all types of beans are 5 for £2 in Sainsbury's! Had it with Ryvita instead of bread :A.0 -
Morning warm friends :j. How lovely to see you join us cuddlymarm. Hope others take the step and join us too.
Sorry for those amongst us who are feeling the jitters and tearful. So hard to feel like that. If I do, I pretend to walk on egg shells and also pretend there is la la la angel type music going on around me, enveloping me and looking after me. Sounds loopy hehehe but it works for me in that it reminds me I am a little precious and fragile being who needs careful looking after. Now, of course, i don't mean precious in an oh look at meeeee way, just that I am fragile I suppose. Hope this might help. Or it may raise a laugh at me which is fine and totally allowed
Thanks for the ideas of the stew. this is just the weather for it - gloriously frosty outside. I really enjoyed the early morning walk with the dogs. The older one (at 11 and a half) was not so amused about the cold under her paws though.
Re the sore b00bs - thanks for the eve primrose oil tip. I know it works too as they always became sore again if I stopped taking it. Just hadn't needed it for a few months and didn't think I'd get this lovely symptom again. However, have started taking the oil again and also bought Agnus Castus yesterday as it's something I liked to take for PMT, so am hoping this will help. I have to take ibuprofen before i go to bed as they are all hot and ag!
Take care all

Re the jitters
wmf soooo funny you said about lala angel-type music.............
Honestly, have just this minute turned my mobile phone ring volume down from loud to discreet and the ringtone to something called "heavenly harps"....no more shrill jolts for me today hopefully!!0 -
occasional lurker popping in - it's good to know we're not alone!!
I've found Susun Weeds New Menopausal Years to be a life saver DH go mine from amazon when I had a complete emotional meltdown a few of month back...
It gives a range of things I can do for various 'symptoms' so I can help myself, from self nurturing through herbal and to things medical (US author)
I'm lucky to also have friends who are homeopaths, hypnotherapists and my DH who treats me regularly with Bowen & Emmett therapies and accupressure (he's self taught so only works on me) and I feel more myself than recently and less 'extreme' thankfully.

Ha Bronnie! The thought of a nice relaxing tune made me instantly go to change mine - chose dandelions, thought that sounded mellow - lo! it changed thr screen to a lovely green pic with dandelion. I am not hugely techno minded ha ha. Anyway, apart from my new green mobile face, I have a new ringtone - blimey I've forgotten what it's called - just checked - festival. More mellow than blaring. Have also turned volume down a bit but can't put on vibrate only - too neurotic incase kids (age 23 and 25, in next few days to be 24 and 26) desperately need me. Ah Bronnie I think it's you who is a wonderful Scorpio, loyal friend to have, and share your birthday on Thurs with my son. Have a good one!!
Nappentass - great to see you in here and thanks so much for the info about the book. It's always so good to hear of a book which has been so helpful. I will have a look at Amazon. Love the idea of helping ourselves through this. You are blessed to have friends who can offer such supportive help to you.
Day 2 of the Agnus Castus and the more powerful eve primrose. Wonder if they will help my b00bs become less achey and brick like before my svelte and postmenopausal sister arrives next week for a few days. Would appreciate not wakening in the night when I turn over.
Have turned into a moaning bag tonight. Lucky DH is working until midnight, poor chap. At least he isn't in to listen. Actually I am here with just the dogs so have no chance to 'outwardly' moan. Ah but i am moaning to you - sorry! Have on a relaxation CD and have burned my lovely candle so the room smells nice. Have had toast with lemon curd (so good for menopausal ladies) and hot chocolate (Cadbury's low cal though:cheesy:).
Had tinned salmon and salad for lunch today - nice easy way to get my fish quota. Had quorn sausage sandwich with toast for tea (hhmm seeing a toast theme today). It was sooo good. I added Mrs Balls hot chutney sauce (worth finding - think mine was from Sainsb - tall bottle), mayo and lettuce. Yum yum.
Have bought boil in the bag kippers, did I tell you? Now, I don't even LIKE kippers so that shows you how much I am listening to my body as I really fancied them in the shop. They looked so OILY and yum. Have peered at them for a couple of days now but no sign yet of actually boiling them. Ok, will put them in the freezer.
Off to have a look at the photos on your blog Choille. They are fab and always cheer me up. Hope you are warm and snug with big duvet in this cold weather.
Have a good sleep all. Cuddle down in your beds and drift off into the land of nod. zzzzzzzzzzzz.

Choille has a blog?...where....? I'd love to have a look/read.:D0

Click on Choille's username to visit her homepage! It's lovely, a breathe of fresh air!
wmf...such fun reading your posts, like a chat over the garden fence!! Your son's b'day is 18th Nov too? Never met many others ...Mickey Mouse and the Walton Sextuplets (27 this year) share our day! I'm such a typical scorpio. The descriptions are always me to a t!! My girls are similar ages, 25 and 22. Just the younger one at home now. She's a great buddy!!
Had a reasonable day. Got some paperwork sorted which has helped me feel a bit more in control. car is being taken for repair tomorrow and getting courtesy car.
The new ring tone is the one I use on holiday for my wake-up call, so is bringing back fond memories every time it rings! I'm not going back to intrusive jarring ringtones any more I've decided!!!!
Work was quietish so quite easy and just dug out a pack of M&S Mediterranean potatoes from the freezer, so had half a pack on a bed of watercress and half a pack of quickly defrosted smoked salmon. Bit of a bizarre mix, but tasty and healthy, so hey ho!
Hope you sleep well ladies. I feel guilty about saying I sleep like a log and sleep with the curtains wide open to ensure I wake upat an early enough hour. (Scoots off, ducking for cover!!!!!!)
Night night all!

Morning lovlies,
OMG how cold is it today. Kent anyway.
Coming onto this thread is like visiting a lovely warm sitting room with comfy sofas and chairs, choille's woodstove crackling away, a kettle gently whisting, tea, coffee and the odd tipple always at hand. Oh, a box of lavender scented tissues for mopping hot brows and drying tears and wiping fluey noses. Next door is a huge bath surrounded by scented candles, essential oils and large fluffy towels. In another room is a masseuse (male, hunky, non pervy and possibly gay so there are no boundaries crossed). A box of choccies, forever full, sits in the corner
. No mobile phones unless they play heavenly harps and never have to be answered. .Oh, Bronnie you get a chauffeur driven car to ease your present woes!. and on and on.....
I'm coming to the end of 3 months of taking soy supplements.. Trouble is I wasn't very scientific about it and began vit E and ginseng at the same time. My flushes has lessened particularly at night (bearing in mind that at their worst I was getting almost one an hour day and night and very intensely). Sometimes two steps forward and one back though. Have no idea if it's related to supplements. If it is, it took several weeks to kick in. When I stop soy, we'll see what happens.
Choille's thread is great btw. :T
Visiting Mum today. The matron will be monitoring the contents of her cupboard from today to ascertain whether someone is taking her stuff or she is forgetting how much she uses. Mmmm... should be interesting.
welcome nappentess - take a seat, have a cuppa and settle in.
