    Hi Ladies,

Wonderful that some of you are having some relief from flushing. :j

I also try & stay awake later sometimes to get a chunk of sleep so I'm not waking at 1 or 2am & then not sleeping. It's hopeless, I always go to bed early as I'm so b tired.

Dogcat - don't worry about being tearful and wanting to be alone. I really feel the body has it's own wisdom, so maybe take some quiet time and no harm done to have a little cry. It can be very cathartic.

Choille - you must have a job drying all that wood off for the stove. A hot bath would help your aches & pains. when do you expect your house to be finished?

Bronnie - your deleted post was in no way a moan. Good luck with getting it all sorted asap.

Shykins - I really hope you get at least one good night's sleep. It casts such a downer over each day when you havn't had enough rest. I get ratty and scratchy. Do not give up the weekly tipple. God we need some treats.

Spirit - yay to the magnet! Mine fell off more than once down the loo....

wmf - sore b00bs. Not nice. Makes sleeping uncomfortable too.

Sweet dreams everyone :). Chilly old night ahead. XXX

Hi Shykins - a condemed house - I seem to have lived in plenty of cottages that should have been knocked down.

Did it finish you as a couple?

We should have been in by now but some other stuff happened - as it does. We hope to get in next year - I hope so as this is the third Winter in here.

It's freezing here too joyful - all the stars are twinkling away.
    Sleep well too.

    Hello all

been busy but flushes are thick and fast now and I go for my blood test result on Thursday, and to see the nurse. My mum, who used HRT herself, is suggesting I do that.
I would appreciate and fors/againsts or any tips on what to ask the nurse, please.

Hi Vali - they should give you a load of print outs that you can read & then decide on what will be best for you & your circumstances. I don't think the medics are as keen on HRt as they were a while back.

I was plagued by hot sweats until a few days ago & they seem to have ceased - fingers crossed, but my sleep patterns a bit ( a load) all over the place.

Hope that you get loads of advice from the nurse.
    All the best.

Thanks for the kind comments ladies! I can't imagine having to hold things together if I was having to cope with the symptoms a lot of you are dealing with on a daily basis. Must count my blessings in that respect atm anyway and feel I'm very fortunate.

I do miss a long soak in the bath. I've got a nice roomy shower cubicle in this house which is great , previous owners removed bath to accomodate it, but sometimes a long hot steamily-fragrant soak is just what's required.

Essential oils....dd has got some 100% ones from Boots for my b'day later this week. Don't what yet, but she knows I love lavender!!

Have greedily stuffed my face this weekend as consolation and advised not to do any gym stuff for a week or so. Need to get my act together tomorrow, now!

    Thanks girlies

    Love Bron

    Good morning everybody

I am one of the many lurkers mainly because at the moment I am having problems stringing a whole sentance together, Yestarday my OH thought it was really funny that we had a whole day with most sentances having thingy, whotsit or er er er in them. I do sleep but wake early and then can't get back to sleep and am having lots of really busy dreams. I am only at the beginning of the big M and know that I am one of many women ( at work there are at least 4 of us, our boss is a saint at times cos he really doesn't understand but tries bless him) I feel so much better when I read the posts here that I am not going loopy.
My strategy is to treat myself nicely. With good food, occasional treats and plenty of rest (well as much as I can fit in anyway)
I better go and get dressed. I hope everyone has a lovely day and hugs to all who are struggling with all the stresses that are thrown at women of our age.

    Bye for now

    Morning Ladies, Lads and Lurkers,

Freezing fog here in kent. Do hope the sun appears to warm the bones. Big decision, do I put the washing on the line.... I'll give it a go. :)

Valli, I think if I had been having to go out to work each day, after 5 yrs of flushes & insomnia, I would probably have given HRT a go (although I have always been dead against it). Just because you have to have some kind of life. This is just a personal sharing, and in no way is advice. I hope you get some good advice from nurse.

Birthday girl Bronnie - belated three cheers!

MS tip :money: - cook a good veggie stew and freeze it in portions. Makes a good quick warming soup or accompaniment to main dish. Either way it's what needed now the winter is here. Add tofu for menpause Soy supplement maybe

Welcome Cuddlymarm - definitely not loopy, just deliciously daft like the rest of us!.

    Hi everyone,
I think yesterday was possibly the worst day for me so far.....I felt strange all day....tearful, and yes I did cry in front of my OH..(I NEVER cry) he (I felt) was quite unsympathetic, he just said....'I don't understand what you're going through' and whenever I try and talk about symptoms etc..he trys to change the subject. I know it must be hard for him, as he doesn't know what to do/say but I resolved myself never to break down like that again. :oI felt terrible. I felt like it was all my fault. He went off to work (does night shifts) and I went to bed. I had an awful night which was dreadful, as I usually sleep very well.

Anyway, I feel much better today, certainly stronger. Lets hope I don't have another day like that for a while.;)

Just wanted to say 'hello' to all the newbies on here...and welcome!:D

Hope we all have a good day today, don't stretch yourselves too far...and try not to worry about anything, because the least little thing can blow out of proportion when you don't feel 'quite right'.
