    No problems here either.
  • Always check my email & come on here to catch up at this time every morning & have found it slow going this morning.
Yesterday early evening Amazon very slow , to the point of being frustrating, but was eventually able to buy find & buy the item I was looking for.

  • Morning all

Well I have both boys - ie Ben and Owen laid on the sofa and apparently taking it in turns to sleep. Holly has woken up very warm indeed but is smiling and happy - just hot - so reluctant to give her calpol just yet but hoping she'll improve - she's been eating and is currently laid in nappy and her bib to try and let her naturally cool off a bit.

Apparently Owen is feeling better though as he's already whinged at me and started an argument. The whinge was because there was no clean glasses in the cupboard - despite the fact the draining board next to the cupboard was full of them
and the argument was that apparently I am a child, and therefore Owen doesn't respect me and when I asked not even respected as mother of his children he replied 'no' so I have told him "well this 'child' isn't taking care of you any more then so bloody suffer and do it yourself ". Needless to say Owen didn't reply and hasn't opened his gob since.

Have promised Ben we will have film cuddles later because he is meant to be at the cinema with his school today watching Marmaduke but he isn't well enough - he seemed fine when he woke up but is still hot so don't want to risk him going on a trip out - its only to town which is 15 minutes max but about half hour by 2 buses to get to him if hes bad in the cinema so kept him home instead,

Have just had to calpol holly up - oh the joys! :( this bug is starting to wear me out now - if its not one being sick, its one coughing, ben crying, holly crying, ben and holly not sleeping, Owen tossing and turning and coughing all night - so im well and truely shattered, may try and steal five on the sofa later if holly naps.

Trying to figure out when I'll be able to get around to finishing my shopping - haven't done a food shop yet! nightmare! and haven't finished gift shopping yet either!

if we could have a few groundhog days that would be good!
    Time to find me again
  • Hugs for Sammy, men are such babies when they are ill, he's got a flaming cheek calling you a child. Make sure you do NOTHING else for him ;) How's your wee niece doing?

Hope I didn't offend, and you don't need to explain yourself to me, but I just knew it was something I hadn't known until faced with it once upon a time, and of course we aren't meant to give medical advice on here anyway. ;)

Jackie, it's a good thing that you pointed it out, believe me. I'm asthmatic and can take a few ibuprofen before it starts affecting my breathing, but my son wh is also asthmatic had a terrible experience.

When he was three, though he was on inhalers and had repeated antibiotics, one doctor in their bloody wisdom, prescribed ibiprofen to try to tackle my son's raging temperature. This was a doctor at the hospital.

The next day, we were in the car and all of a sudden my son started vomitting blood...i was catching it by the handful, it was clotted and thick and of course we headed straight for A and E. My DS was in for 24 hours and the diagnosis? Ibuprofen induced haemetamesis. In other words, the ibuprofen had caused it.

So as i say, you are right to bring this to peoples attention, not all asthmatics react badly to it, but it can actually have very serious implications.

Sammy, you are a STAR!!! I don't know how you manage, really i don't...rxcept to say that as women we do seem to pull out this inner strength in the face of adversity don't we?! You are doing really well hun XXX

  • Goodness, Katholicos, that's horrific, I didn't realise the implications were that bad, I had assumed it affected breathing because of the anti inflammatory properties. I hope he got his backside kicked for that!

    Morning guys.

welcome becks seven and thanks cranky 40 for advice.
Eldest is is 5 in feb and in rception shes fine in day its just nighttime as shes heavy sleeper, prefer pullsups so that on rare dry nights she can attemt to go to toiliet by herself. I dont get bedwetter pants I get pullups largest size 6. find pampers/huggies too pricey and sainsburys own brand is 4.70 a pack and in size 6 you get 2 less only 18 whereas in size 5 you get 20. I looked all supermarkets they dont make value pullups just nappies. The lids size 6pullups were 3.30 a pack.

My 15month old wears cloth in day and odd sposie at night as she power wees.

I have found this site slow for days but this morning kept saying server not found we with virgin in south west.

Very cold today thankfully hubbys on late so he took eldest in.
shes exited about giving out her christmas cards today, took us ages to write them yesterday and dident want to miss any kiddies out.

She nearly had wee wee accident in school yestrday as they not allowed to toiliet when they doing jesus work so need to query this.
Shes got her 1st official mass today which should be interesting.

forgot to mention silly good news from yesterday.
I know its only small but was chuffed.
A few months ago start of september I went to nearly new sale at bath.
Was stressed as daughter needed new winter coat and money was tight.
That day ended up buying 2 coats for 2quid each.
One was cream puffa with fur trim hood next brand which has been perfect for her.
Then my mam brought her cheapy from tk maxx too but zips broke.
Last xmas dad brought her lovley cream faux fur coat from tesco which is her dress coat but not practical as no buttons or hood.
She had outgrown her rainmac from last year in height plus its not overly warm more suited to spring.

This is going to sound nuts but I brought her a raincoat with no hood as it was cheap and liked the colour. its lilac and made by company called trespasss so proper waterproof and has zip in fleece jacket that detaches inside. The lady said maybe if i contact the company could get spare hood.
well daughter found it in cupboard yesterday put it on and found the coat in the pocket so that will be fab to wear for winter and spring as more practical than pretty.

    Online shopping confuses me.
never shopped on amazon, have brought presents on ebay in past but none this year.
I know for some things especially bigger purchases or expensive one I have ordered online in past but not sure I could do my whole xmas shopping online as have feeling would cost me more.

My freinds keep saying cant belive you dont shop online for food.
But to keep costs down I shop around so

    milk/bread/some frozen farmfoods-no online
veg and other grocery bits lidls-no online.
co-op mainly reductions -dont get those online.
sainsburys is our main supermarket sometimes morrisions tescos is either too far , too big or too small and find it pricey and asda our idea of hell have tried.

Maybe its because worked in food retail and no they sometimes substitute for the silliest of things, they get damaged in transit, sat around loading bay for ages shich botheres me with chilled and frozen and cant always be sure they picked the best dates.
Maybe im a control freak. Think would actually take me longer to put things in online basket than just to run round.

As for gifts want to go some cheaper shops like poundland and primark no online.
I like to soak up atmosphere of lights and xmas markets in town and would hate to miss all that even if it is a little stressful.

Well babys asleep she threw up this morning do hope shes ok she seems happy enough.
Last night she woke 3times am shattered the 2nd-3rd time she was up from 2.35-3.45 as ended up getting her 2bottles of milk and nearly out of milk again.
Hubby dident hear and snores really bad.he fell asleep at half past 8.
Babys very active kicking night/early hours so feel very unrested plus the leg cramps are awful.

I fell asleep during rivercottage xmas special luckily I recorded it me and hubby ticked up in bed with satsumas and chesnuts.

Got to go dreaded shoe shopping after school unfortunatly as discos tommorow.
want to do something useful today either cooking or housework so day not wasted.

last night spent 2hours making beef stew was yummy.
Typical kids tucked in to lidls spagetti hoops on toast and ate it all that never seems to happen withe meals I make.

Sammy k-seems like owen needs to grow up and be more grateful.
Im 8years younger than hubby and hes definatly the bigger kid.
Hope kiddies better for you. is neice in school whilst bens home.
Also assuming older stepsons at his mams and in different school to ben.

Hubby seeing his son in wales sunday and probably handing his mam the x box then which still need to wrap.Hubby works in retail so still a few hours over xmas hence why feeling pressure as its me who has to complete it all wrap presents and write the cards ect.

Cant wait to xmas day when I can just. child, enjoy and catch up with family thats best part of xmas for me.
Cant wait to get tree up.

Get well soon -everyone whos poorly.
wrap up warm as getting colder.
