I am doing my best to have a good christmas as last year was pretty rubbish (dh had not long died), but can I just say that next year, I will wrap presents as I make or buy them, the presents will all be square and the child is getting a gift voucher. Oh and you should see the state of our tree, the kitten can't leave it alone. It's like the leaning tower of Pisa now :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0

At least yours is a kitten Cranky - mine is a right fat knacker who spends all her time in front of the burner. That is until the Christmas tree goes up and she thinks she is a slim Jim and ends up knocking out all the branches and clinging to the one which somehow manages to stay in!0

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I almost fell of my chair laughing there, redlady! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: "right fat knacker" - now you've just added a new phrase to my collection of regional sayings:rotfl::rotfl:....
<goes off to look it up......>
EDIT: Tried to look up where that phrase comes from and what it means - no joy....any explanations purlease....?0 -
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:at Redlady...
Made me laugh.:D
I was sat at the GP's surgery, for a total of 65 minutes, before being seen for my appointment.
Then, had to see a consultant at the hospital later. Sat for another 30 minutes. Some poor elderly lady was sat there in a wheelchair waiting for a lift home. She had been there for 3 hours and the people who were supposed to be fetching her (not sure if NHS or borough transport) had been phoned 3 times to collect her.:( Poor thing.
Got a repeat prescription for my meds as the forecast is for long term snow. I will be going nowhere.
Hope some of you are feeling better. Gailey, take it a bit easier hon, for you and babies' sakes. You're wearing yourself out.
Sammy_kaye, hope yours are all feeling a bit better too.:)Felines are my favourite

Gailey - I dont do as much as the mum i do toast with, she does more than the head of the PTA! Must admitt I feel sick again and im sure as its because im so tired and run down, so looking forward to half term, so we dont have to rush so much.
Ds1 has his christmas play in the morning, hes a kangaroo, managed to catch a couple of minutes of the dress rehersal this morning, they all looked lovely. Then friday thew boys are getting attendance certificates in assembly so we got a busy few days.
Boys not eaten much again and neither have I which isnt helping.
Got DS2 pre school booster appointment for christmas eve ive cancelled until the new year as he is always ill after jabs and I would rather he wasnt on christmas day.
Still need to do the monthly on line shop, slot booked for sunday morning, ive done a bit of a list but I have zero motivation.
It better not snow here thursday and school be shut after we wrapped all those presents -it can be shut friday though!Mum, wife and dinnerlady!0 -
Lindy Loo I'm hoping school will be OK on Thursday as it will be my last day of peace before the holidays. I have the company of a charming young gentleman of 2 years old on Friday mornings while his mum goes shopping without him. He's delightful, but I get nothing done. George is a fat sheep in his play (tomorrow) and is already complaining that the costume makes him hot. I'd offer you a play date during the holidays, but it looks like we may well be snowed in
Redlady we do also have an older cat who has been outside for a maximum of 10 minutes every day since the weather turned cold. She is currently mystified as to why she can no longer lie down on the kitchen radiator. The simple answer is that her tummy no longer fits :rotfl:
Parsonswife 3 hours  That's awful.
I hope all the poorly people are better in time to enjoy Christmas. Take care of yourselves all of you.0 -

cranky and redlady aw that me laugh so much.
Basically ceridwen in my house / family fat knacker is another saying "fat get".
I also have one of these, he was originally on the chair, he then decided to stretch the full length of it, the cheeky thing wouldn't move for anyone. Then slowly all i could see was his white tummy falling of the chair. Couldn't help howling when he fell off.:rotfl::rotfl:
He still can't understand why he fell off the chair. What can i say he is that fat, and yes he's on a diet.
Walked in the front room and who did i see hanging on for dear life on the tree. One skinny cat and one fat cat and a wonky star on the top. Telling yeah they worse than the kids! Baubles everywhere and tinsel trapped in the cats claws, took me ages to detangle them.
The boys have ransacked the crackers and put them on the tree, the cats are not impressed by these new additions and keep knocking them. I can see a battle of wills for the next couple of weeks.
Thanks nuala ((hugs))) i think its the best type of tree too:p
I lvoe mismatched stuff, my houseis full of it.
Just found some terracotta clay so i think the boys might make some pressies with it tomorrow.
Snips really enjoyed himself today at school, ended up playing lots of games and scoffing lots of nosh. Coddy's turn tomorrow, but right now he off to a mine to find his dads helmet and torch, The daft get left it there on sunday.
Think i'm spending the day in tomorrow, going to get some pressies wrapped and some cleaning done. Also planning on making fish cakes with left over mash, some large quiches for pack lunches. Make also make more cakes but not so sure yet.0
