:rotfl::rotfl: - duly registered - theres a word several "rungs down the ladder" from chav and it seems to be Irish
(with special reference to fat cats.....ooooh....can we apply it to bankers and the like then - as they are "fat cats" of a different type?;)).

Well - I needed a laugh today - as came back home feeling like a well-deserved rant in a couple of different directions...

<goes off repeating to self "just think about right fat knacker cats ceridwen.....">

EDIT: Remembering another fat knacker cat of many years back. We were all sitting there watching what was probably a very "high-minded" play being performed (being as how it was being put on by Quakers) and there was a door either side of the "stage area". I dont remember a thing about the "message" the play was supposed to be conveying - I was just in stitches watching this enormous fat cat who was obviously thoroughly intrigued by it all walking straight onto the "stage" through one door and back out the other conveying huge curiosity with every move as it followed step by step in the footsteps of one of the "characters"....The cat couldnt have looked nosier if it had tried..
Sounds like you've had a bad day ... sorry to hear that and hope you're ok. I like the sound of your mantra though! :)
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)

Im sorry but I have to ask Lindy loo where does a kangaroo fit into a Christmas play :rotfl: Should think its lots of fun playing one though :)

The play was great I must admitt, as for the kangaroo (a fine one aaron was) he was one of the animals penguin pete met on his way to the north pole to see santa via bethlehem to meet baby jesus! Aaron now has it in his head that santa and 3 snowmen were at the birth in the stable!

...and on a different topic - I'm guessing we could do with a new "installment" of this thread in the New Year - ie 1 January equalling the next "installment".

i'll just throw that thought into the mix for consideration...

  • Charlies aunt - congrats in the allotment, I have freinds waiting to see if they have a plot, they are very excited.

Frugal - sadly the boys dont know any hymns as they dont do them at school, even the nurserys 'traditional' nativity didnt have any. Was talking to the dinners ladies in school about how traditional songs and hymns arent heard any more. Were hopefully going to make the christmas eve service at the local church so the boys may learn a little about what went on in the stable!

Interesting comment. We were in a long shopping queue at the week-end and the general topic turned to student riots. There was general agreement that people would rather the government spent money on rehabilitating injured soldiers in Afghanistan or supporting the elderly, rather than providing a university education for students who had not yet contributed anything to the economy and who were behaving like criminals. Every ody seemed to be in favour of any student found guilty of a public order offence being rusticated from their university.
I know that many students protested perfectly peacefully but their reputation has sadly now been tarnished by the criminal minority in their midst. I have protested against many things in my time, but always peacefully and it grieves me to see what has been happening. Pictures of these riots will have been televised around the world and will have badly damaged our country's reputation.

i've read a lot of articles over internet about student's riots in my homecountry-please believe me-nobody felt the reputation of UK was dameged-in fact there were a lots of suppportive comments!

As this thread has gone way off the topic of Old Style I think now might be a good time for a new thread rather than wait until January. What I will do is to close this thread and resurrect the thread that kittie began in October.

    Link to new thread:

It may be tough for 6 years. The survival thread

I would ask you to try to keep the new thread on topic.

    Many thanks,
