I can take it for about 2 days before I get wheezy with it, and not all asthmatics are affected. It's worth keeping an eye on though.
  • Thanks Cranky, it was just a distant faint memory in my head of a conversation I had with my MIL.

  • Jackie - I tend to give him anadin more or paracetemol but it was a case of we had ibuprofen in the cupboard and nothing else and he was in pain.

His asthma is more sports related though that it tends to trigger attacks but I have seen him use it once since being poorly this time around as his coughing fit made him quite breathless etc but we always keep inhalers in the house just in case - he is ok with ibuprofen but I think paracetamol is going to be more useful and the ibuprofen is what the doctor prescribed him when he pulled all his back and shoulder muscles.

    Afternoon guys.

    Hope everyones doing ok.

sammy k-you sound very busy. Men are the worst when ill. well done in such a cheap mp3 player had no idea they sold them so cheap.

Well went out last night for hubbys xmas dinner in toby carvery in southwales was surprised how nice it was had 3courses for 6quid as was covered by hubbys company so paid half. Not sure if its the baby but struggled to eat much was gutted as the yorkies were massive, great value would go there again.
The babysitters coped with eldest fine she finally went to sleep at 9pm.

Not sure what time she jumped in our bed last night was home about half 10 and went straight to bed.

Hubbys long day today he left at 6am dont think hes back until 9pm.
had enough cash to fund school dinners this week.
nobody wanted to get up this morning as so tired and cold.
shock horror managed to get to school on time today was determined
was originally going to get straight on bus after drop off to local retail park but forgot my cashcard:(.

Walked home with a mummy freind whos worried about money as she said she wished she had been able to put aside for xmas or even started shopping earlier but every month somethings come up and not been able to, I said know that feeling far too well.
we discussed the how expensive santas grottos are thesedays.
we baffled how most mums at school dont work and seem to be fine do they have super rich husbands but as i said sometimes its image and could be debts. we have flash car we cant afford to run.
Anyway her daughters coming to xmas tea friday which will be nice.

finally got bus was freezing to retail park. seemed rest of school had same idea saw so many people I knew desperatly trying to do stuff.
popped into lidls as havent been in ages wanted to check out xmas deals and got leaflet called luxury for all seems really good prices on lots of things.

got crate of celementines half price-thourght could use as hamper basket for my homemade goodies.
got pullups for eldest feel bad at age 4halfs hes still in pull up pants at night anyway they 3.30 so much cheaper than sainsburys.
Got some tomatoes for the chutney.
chesnuts at last been craving them for last 2months.
spend 20quid which thourght was quite good as brought quite a few things and now know what to add to dec shopping list.

went to brantano to look at part shoes but confused need daughter with me.

went to store twenty one used to be called b wise or qs style.
They had lots of xmas cards reduced which is good as eldest has tonnes and wants to send hers out and nice 16pack was reduced to 50p so got 2 that should be most people she knows.

Peococks was ok for browse nice cheap childrens pjs.

Sainsburys wasent as manic as I thourght it would be but every ailse i went down saw someone i knew took ages to get round.
Couldent gets shoes or tights there did look.
cheated and got some ready made pastry for quiches/mince pies as feel so tired this week.
Got value red wine 2.64 a bottle for beef casserole tonight.
got all my bits for school help the homeless parcel mostly toilitries they deliver to homeless same time as soup run just got soap, deodrant, toothpastes, toothbrushes and mints.
Got some value choc as thourght might be nice melted on twinks or gingerbread even.

forgot the 2 things really needed balloons a our irons packed up and went past argos.

Couldent fit any more bags on buggy so only did as much as i could get.

got eldest one more present nice hello kittyrucksack in sainsburys 5.50which seems cheap compared to other places so got it today.
    Just feel drained of energy.
suppost to be going xmas pressie shopping wed now thinking maybe do food wed before it gets too manic and things sell out and do pressie shopping with baby on thur.
Would love to me mostly done by friday.

Oddly exited about friday now as should be fun.
It wont be as posh and fancy as kirsty and phils.
still need to attempt the snowman pinatta.
going to try using xmas cutters to make tree sandwiches and tree pizzas.

    doing mini quiches.
any other ideas for kids savoury snacks.

doing breadsticks, carrots and cucumber sticks.
    cherry tomatoes.
    trying to keep it healthy.
have no idea what would make fun dessert cakes, biscuits, jelly or all.

did get some cheapy kids xmas crackers for table today 1.99 in lidls then got annoyed as saw similar for 1.50store 21.

when i got home caught end of daily politics with bit on how ppi costing us billions more and we actually signed some bad deals last few years. all that negative press about george osbourne wanting to buy 900quid tree for treasury is complete nonsense as painted to make him look bad. apparently the treasury is pfi as labour sold it and government lease it back. osbourne wanted to get 45quid tree from b and q but the landlord said no has to eb brought from the company that manages the building under health and safety rules and risk assesments and would cost over 800quid.
He wnated to get fish and chips delivered for him, his team and mervyn king during a meeting this bit made me smile but the landlord said he couldent order 20quid order from local chippy he had to order 170quid from authorised caterer couldent make this madness up but at least in all fairness to the man hes may have wealth but he seems to have pretty down to earth common sense approach to life and money.

Starting to think the uks gone mad, front of express I think today said this will be best xmas retail sales since the credit crunch not sure how as most people I know scaling back or stuggling.
I can see why people get down at xmas all the stress of the cost of xmas means most people worry and cant enjoy it as much as they should.

Right best get off start cooking and cleaning.
thankfully we all ok apart from coughs and colds nothing major.
cant wait to get everything done and relax.

hubby meant to have weekend off now he says he may have to work sunday not happy.
still havent got tree thats bugging me.
hubbys working xmas even this year so need to go reduced hunting by myself with 2kids in tow what fun.

forcast very cold weather so wrap up everyone, be careful and ensure you got enough food in house.

    Hey all!

Done some Christmas shopping i got some good news, a survey site is paying £10 in cash to me within the next couple of days:D.
My OH still has a job up to now:T:T. Finally found snips a bike (his big pressie for xmas). It was £75:eek: nearly had a heart attack at tghe price but it should do him now till at least age 13 +, its like a bmx and it was 75% off!!!!
So far i have spent considerably less on xmas this year, than last year, thanks to surveys and selling stuff on ebay:T:T. I'm really pleased, we've even got decs up, just need to buy a xmas tree now!

Got another pressie in so thats my sisters partner done all for a whopping £1.99! Got the teachers some cups, so just going to fill with a hot choclate sachet and marshmallows. So spent £7 ish on stuff but the teachers deserve it as they have all been stars. All of them have really helped us out, and i think a shiny new cup is ideal on a cold winters day.

Hope your all okay sammy hun take care, hope everyones better soon x

Well i spent my today becoming very angry with people, luckily i held my tongue.
One person said "Anyone who earns below £25,000 should not be allowed to go to university". Other ignoramus saying "its poor people that are causing the ruination of the country" errr actually no poor people go out get loans to pay for food, tax etc Rich people dodge paying they taxes and then complain about how bad the country is:mad::mad:

Don't get me started on the university debate, i for one fully applaud the students for protesting and feel extremely guilty that i wasn't there to support them. My partner feels the same way, as now our children in eight years time will struggle to pay fees, rent and we will struggle to help them to better their lives. Its simply appaling that it has been allowed to happen, thus the line between the rich and poor stretches ever wider. Karl Marx will be turning in his grave.

I DO NOT TOLERATE the appaling behaviour of a select few who descercrated the centotaph or Churchills stue, the people who did it should be charged with criminal damage. The sacrifices they made have allowed us to speak and have democratic rights. But now we don't due to the givernments actions.
BUT for some students violence i.e smashing windows was purely out of frustration. Also the police involvement and handling of the situation was appalling. The same thing happened during a protest a london, people were bottlenecked and crowded. Children were trapped for 8 hours and wouldn't allow them to leave the crowds. Absolutely shocking behaviour, did the police get charged with gross mis conduct nope, instead it was called a success.

Don't get me wrong the emergency do a fantastic job, without them it would be complete chaos. BUT some of the officers who generally take part in riot controls are purely out for violence themselves. This coming from experience of living five minutes form a football stadium and actually personally knowing some of the officers from childhood.I was even told this by other fellow officers, who actively resist getting involved with large groups.

OOps the bread machines gone off, better get the dough out for tea.!
  • Sorry to hear how ill everyone is round your way SK, hope they start feeling better soon.

I get paid on Thursday, such a relief but at the same time it's all pre-allocated to bills, debt repayments and Christmas stuff so doesn't feel as good as it should, can't wait to get my debt paid off so that money is MINE. The in-laws have given me money for Christmas and I've been ordered to spend it on things I want, my husband has said he wants to see receipts as proof I've spent the full amount on myself and haven't used any to pay of my CC or just put it in savings. I suppose I don't really spend frivolously on myself so I will but I'm waiting for the sales to get the most for my money.

Managed to sort through all the presents today and worked out I need a couple of small bits for the two eldest and to go in my friends Christmas hamper, but after that I am done, am going food shopping tomorrow with my Morrisons petrol vouchers (saved all year) so have £35 to buy turkey and some other bits, then off to finish the big shop at Asda, will need to buy a couple of bottles of wine as gifts, and some sweets for one of the staff rooms at school, then present wise I am finished!!:j:j:j:j:j

I have never managed to be this organised, so am enjoying the idea that by Friday i can spend time baking and enjoying Christmas.
