I heard that swine flu is back again along with 'normal' flu.
Think it is great that you are looking after your niece as well as your own children.
Have you had to take her to school today even though little Ben is ill?
Finally managed to wrap my pressies at the weekend. There weren't that many to do but it's a job I hate & as it made my hand ache some of them look a bit untidy but never mind as most are for my 2 grandsons & they won't care.
Next job is cards. Send less & less each year but better send some to DD & family and DS & DIL as I won't be seeing them til Boxing Day.
Have all my food shopping done. Just need to collect turkey & ham joint from buutcher on 23rd & get the veg. Detest food shopping at this time of year. Good Luck to all of you who are braving the shops in the next few days.0 -
Godsake we are all having it bad this year, with money and other things. Stay srrong and stay bolshie - I find it helps LOL! I totally hate xmas, really dont like it and this time of year could get me down if I let it. but I love New Year, so once that arrives then its a brand new shiny page in my notebook and I perk up. So hang on in there everybody - the world keeps turning xxx0

Good morning everyone.
Woke up to heavy fog outside this morning, it's so cold and damp.:(
Norovirus is also going around apparently.

More snow predicted for us from tomorrow.
Hugs to all who need them and those who are ill, I hope you recover soon.Felines are my favourite

DD's just recovered from Norovirus, really nasty
I'm dreading the snow coming back, but the last lot of snow taught me to make sure I have milk and flour in, so am feeling more prepared!

My lovely dd who came down to stay for a couple of days to look after us the first week of this lurgy, is now poorly herself!:( Feel so guilty but did try to disuade her from visiting! I am in the 3rd week now but that is mainly because I pulled chest muscles by coughing so much! I saw the dr last week and she said the infection itself was cleared, no temp and plenty of oxygen in the blood! phew. No mention of swine flu and as dd had that last year I'm guessing this lurgy is something new! Hope anyone else with this (or any other) bug feels much better soon!
Today I am sadly having to cancel appointments all over the place! I can't manage to drive with the chest pain, No Christmas dinner for me today with the folks from the MS centre, no Church or homegroup, no taking little dog for her haircutJust hope that I will be ok to get my haircut at the weekend as dh is around to drive me there. No point sulking about it though as it could be worse. Instead I intend to finish writing out my cards and wrapping up parcels that need sending off. Hoping dh will manage to spare some time to post the parcels before last posting date on Wednesday.
An elderly lady who lives a few doors away had a bad fall and is rather bruised poor girl, so I am going to walk down later with a poinsetta for her (we know the grower and it is so exciting when we see his name on some of the pots in Sainsburys!) Other than that I shall chill out and enjoy looking at the Christmas tree and maybe watch some of the soppy Christmas movies that are on at the moment. Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Everythings symptoms all sound the same but Im going with nephew being the culprit of said bug and his symptoms so far seem to be
day 1 - generally feeling tired/sleepy
day 2 - pain and aching
day 3 - the runs.
fantastic - I have Ben on Day 1 and Owen on Day 2 so tomorrow could be interesting! Fingers crossed the rest of us will remain bug free. Have been having fresh orange juice this morning with breakfast and some liquid vitamins - think I will try and get them down Ben later to give him a boost too. Mother In Law isn't sounding good though - she has over active thyroid and cannot take a lot of medicines but told her take two anadins and make up a juice with hot water and it will help sooth her throat and clear her nose.
Although Ben has eaten this morning - ok so only his advent calendar choccie and a few plain biscuits but at least he's eaten - he is complaining of a headache and feeling tired but his tummy seems to be better. He's drinking plenty too thankfully.
Just taken a glass of juice to Owen and moved the baby monitor so I can hear him clearer now. He's sneezing his head off as I type. Will take his inhaler in when I go to give him his med's at 12.30. Trying to hold off Bens meds until 12.30 (the paracetamol at least) so I know where I stand and they are medicated at the same time!
Rest of today will be tidying round, disinfecting door handles, watching the baby monitor, need to clean the microwave for soup for lunch as had a pasta sauce explosion in there last night! then might cuddle up with ben and watch elf later which I V+'d last night.
Bens on sofa singing at the minute though so think if I keep on him he may be well enough for school tomorrow and his cinema trip.Time to find me again0 -
Gawd SK you have some inner strength in you !! Most people would have gone to pieces with what you have been putting up with for such a long time. What a strong woman you are. Tough times now but I get the feeling that your time will come. You are a shining light to a lot of people
yes swine flu is back and is wrapped up with seasonal flu. All real flu is nasty. Lots of drinks, rest and paracetamol. Be mindful of croup with the young ones and have a plan of action ie lots of steam
Is this time the dark before dawn? I think so, come january all will look different like mardatha says0 -
Theres a horrendous lurgy going round. My little girl started with a cough then progressed to vomiting and was ill and lethargic for 2 days. Kept sleeping which isnt like her. Then she had 2 really bad nosebleeds. Seems ok now, seems to last 3 days. I had friends round on Sat night and felt awful, achy and just ill. Couldnt drink or eat. Lot better now and am in work as I was off last week after my fall.
Everyone seems to be suffering at the moment with illness/money worries. Ive gone wrong somewhere this month with my finances. Luckily its pay day on Wed. Xmas shopping done mostly, just need a couple of things then thats 1 worry out of the way!I have every possession I want. I have a lot of friends who have a lot more possessions. But in some cases I feel the possessions possess them, rather than the other way round0 -
gosh sorry to hear everyone is poorly, i dont know why but i never get ill, i'm not complaining but it dosent make sense as my diet is absolute carp, but havent had a cold or bug for about 20 yrs, mind you i do eat alot of vindaloo, not everyday obviously, but i do love it, smothered in black pepper - yummy
i have almost finished all my christmas shopping, but i havent wrapped it yet, a job i hate with a passion, i always run out of paper or tape, or both,
quite mild here in cambs today, really hope we dont get much snow,0 -
On the subject of Christmas I am somewhat behind - I haven't done or even scheduled a Christmas food shop but get a feeling I may go and do a late night one when Owen is better and he can stay home with kiddies in bed as our tesco is 24 hours up until Christmas eve.
I still have a few bits and pieces to get Benjamin that are on his Xmas list but they come to about £40 max - he wants a puffle, lego , a tub of army men and toy story 3. He has asked for an MP3 too - so he can have his music on it as I use my iPod religiously and hes a music nerd like mummy but found a nice blue one of them that looks like an ishuffle for £6.99 with headphones on Amazon so just need to get those and he's done.
Then I get to do wrapping
lurgy update - all medicated now at 12.30 -- ben seems fine playing on Xbox and Owen says his head is killing him and that's the worst bit - feels like its in a vice so just given him two ibuprofen but think i need to find the paracetemol out for him .Time to find me again0
