Nor me. i seem to have a husband who thinks the whole thing can be done on £20. :(
  • It can, if you just buy them all a Terry's chocolate orange, apparently you can pick them up in poundland. ;)

I have managed to volunteer myself to buy my children's gifts from their grandmother on top of everything else I still have to do. Which would be fine, if I didn't have them both at home sick :rotfl: I have no ideas and cannot do it online, it really requires a look round the shops in person - has no one invented a time machine yet in their shed?

    I work on a don't ask and I won't tell policy.

Just do what I do, keep him sloshed from 1st December.

He snores through all the preparation, and most of the event, and most of the aftermath ,and most of the New Year.

I wake him up when it's time to go back to work.

i've done most of my shopping online which is backfiring as no parcels seem to be getting through and am getting slightly panic-y now!!

Main gift for my dd is from Kids Window which I have discovered today gets terrible reviews for delivery at the best of times - and its now out of stock everywhere else I've looked

  • were all done for christmas, just the food shopping to organise to come on the 19th. Mum and sister have ordered a turkey thats due 23rd.

Im waiting for parcels, some ebay, some amazon and elc. All were ordered a week ago or more. Waiting for photos from asda. Went through MSE forum and saw 40 prints for £1.50 p&p. Have done the chester zoo photos and the photos for OH family cards as they dont see the boys. I did the order on 3rd december they have taken the £1.50 and im still waiting. I emailed and was told it takes 7 working days to arrive after postage - what a load of rubbish wouldnt recomend.

Wrapped family presents today and ran out of paper! So tired and run down, feel a little sick too. boys have viral infections but no temp so doctor said send the to school as they need to be around germs to learn to fight them. Ds2 is fine till he gets home then is too tired to eat and cries. Kept him off last tuesday, he ate but didnt nap so made him so much worse. think I feel sick as im so tired

  • Hope you feel better soon lindy-loo and catznine and FTM's and SammyKaye's families. Not the time of year to be feeling below par when there is so much to do but you can only do what you can do. World won't end if Christmas cards etc don't get sent (I hope!). Fingers crossed your DD's present arrives in time though rachbc. We had a very nailbiting Christmas Eve one year when i had ordered two pogosticks (twins) and only one came!

I need to do some serious wrapping tonight so that I can go to the Post Office tomorrow. Ordered/bought everything about a month ago but have been putting off wrapping and parcelling it all up and now cutting it fine. I also have extended family who expect me to order their gifts for my children - understandable given where we live - cuts out posting everything twice - but also means I have to wrap their presents as well as mine :Grr: I used to love wrapping presents - home made stencilled wrapping paper, the works - but somewhere along the line I have lost my enthusiasm - possibly because of doing it "in bulk". Also determined to do stockings ahead of time this year and not at midnight on Christmas Eve when I'm knackered after cooking the meal (we have ours on Christmas Eve).

Noticeably colder here today. Return of the snow and ice? We got off lightly last time but I don't think we will be so lucky this time round. Hope everyone else is OK.
