Morning all
Just caught up on the week and congrats to all those that have something to celebrate - even the TADA lists - love them!!! I second all the above on taking the positive and focus to go forward in whatever goals you have set and using the support of what you love.

I've just read The Secret and loved it but not because The Universe is going to send me a big cheque and a shiny new car.
It just made me feel and think in a much more positive way. I now consciously appreciate and am grateful for the people and things around me instead of taking them for granted.
I second this.
Craftyscholar - I certainly hope no one would be chucked off the thread because they didn't "believe" in a certain book and I wouldn't stand for it either. Your support book sounds very interesting actuallyI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Also maybe something to do with not wanting confrontations so avoid disagreeing.
Got a mug of tea and back to Firewalker's thread.0 -
Craftyscholar - interesting points you raised - I've recently been getting my head round a 'higher power' in my life - ie anyone but me lol. I pray now - but don't believe in God, certainly after I had a day trip to Auschwitz on Thursday, any ideas about God have been smashed. This is only MY personal experience, I respect those who do have faith. The point I'm making is that my prayers to this higher power have helped me immensely, as all I ask for is strength and guidence to do the right thing or strength to get through a difficult time. Personally I can't believe that praying and believing will result in, say, a cure for osmeone, as this hasn't happened for me or others and personally, I can't believe that because it doesn't work. However, that being so, I also believe what a number of others have said about the mental benefits of positivity when ill, and the quick recovery rates, or greater ease at dealing with whatever illness is happening.
Sorry, made sense to me when I first thought it!!!
On a separate note - my mother has been nominated for a grant from an organisation that is vote based. Is it the wrong use of the matrix to ask people to vote for her? She wouldn't directly benefit - the money would go to the community radio she manages for community use.

This is exactly the way I see the power of the Matrix - great ideas are shaped by 'creative destruction'. In other words, things become better when people discuss the points of discord and come up with a completely different proposition.
Killing discussion usually kills the enterprise itself. Discussions have to follow certain rules though (e.g. the aims is to make it better; to contribute constructively; to keep a sense of perspective; good humour etc.)
And thanks for mentioning my writing - I am just in the process of doing a list of the things people have told me I can do and have to say that writing crops up again and again. And it surprises me every time someone comments - which is another sign that it might be important.

Morning all, ladies I am a totally no nonsense 'get on with it' sort of person and I hate overananlysing and anything I call 'wallowing in self pity', 'woe is me' and 'navelgaving'. However what I liked about The Secret was that it encourages you to think positively and visualise what your life could be like if you had what you wanted. In that way it can only be good and I will keep using it. I DO NOT beleive it all and certainly not that ill health is your fault. I couldn't give a monkeys what people use to get through the day, and I like it here because we are all so different and have different things to bring to the table.
I've had nastiness on another thread too, just about a difference of opinion so I know what that's like. At our ages, I think we're all entitled to an opinion and I really appreciate all your opinions. X'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
I haven't read the secret yet, so cannot really comment, But I do believe if it helps people then good, If people don't feel it helps then thats good too, everyone has different opinions. believing or not is neither right or wrong. And I really don't think you will get kicked off here for your honest opinion, This is what this thread is all about
helping others and sharing opinions.
I for one wouldn't have got as far as I have with the house and the jewellery, without the support of everyone here, and I have just this minute bit the bullet and upgraded my websiteBoiler pot £30.92/£10000 -

Lovely! Craftyscholar, see what you sparked - exactly what Firewalker is describing, in fact, that the discord you were worried about, and had experienced on another thread, doesn't exist here. Result
Firewalker - I'm another one who wants to mention your writing - I didn't quite *get* it till today, but for some reason when you mentioned your thread above, today was the day, and like craftyscholar, I started on page one. I'm only at the end of page 3, and I have to break off now, I need to go back to bed and rest, but its absolutely beautiful. You should certainly write a book when the calling takes you - philosophy and life and money and identity and values and morals, they're all in there. Thank you!
I also checked out Barbara Sher, after craftyscholar mentioned her - thats another bookmark, and another site to read, I love what she said about the ways that we can reject things out of unconscious fear.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
