Oh fantasia, positive vibes for your daughter. Sounds like she's already started doing something positive, well done her for taking things into her own hands! How sad to be deprived of her dream job after such a short time though.Hope she finds something else soon x

Glad you're feeling a little better Claire!

I'm back, so sorry for not participating but had an assignment to write plus I wasn't in the country most of the time. But I'm back (well, not really, going away for 4 days to see my family tmrw) finally and try time management better (maybe your 15 min thingies MG?).

I wanted to ask how we will send the shirts once we collected them? I need to know as I can't keep them long in my one bed flat and also once I send out the leaflet I 'm afraid I might get tons and I don't have a car! Oh, so pls someone tell me how it will be. Many thanks.

Thanks everybody, the positive vibe thing is what I wanted to start, I do believe its a chain that can have a massive effect when it kicks in. DD is so lovely, atm though she is feeling a little bit sorry for herself (who wouldnt?). I want her to see she may be down, but she defo isn't OUT. The panic has kicked in though, cos its so near to Xmas, and she has her own 9 year old dd too and she's single.
She truly didnt deserve this, she's worked SOOOOOO hard (her dd's dad didnt want to know) and done it all on her own, plus study, work. And try to make life better. I know lots of people had done the same but I'm emotionally involved here and it makes me cross that it's happened to someone I love.
Silly i know but Mums will understand I think.

I dared to ask permission to put up a poster at work on Friday (and maybe getting something put up on the company intranet too) but wasn't expecting anything - most people around here are rugby fans.

Only, I've just had an email from a colleague who actually helps organise WaterAid fantasy football and he has offered to reference the football shirts project in his weekly email. The only thing is, participants are all over the country and so he wants to know about collection in any parts of the country and any stipulations for donations?

Can someone advise what I should reply back? Obviously this is a pretty cool opportunity but I'm not really in a position to liaise between people (am in the middle of organising a LARP event for this weekend *EEK!*)

    Thanks

I think we need to do a map of the UK and say who would be prepare to collect from where personally I would be happy to do North Wales including Anglesey and also Cheshire. Then we can work out where there are any gaps and see if some people would be willing to stretch their areas. If we have more than one person willing to collect in an area perhaps one could be the area co-ordinator and liaise with the other people in their area for the most efficicient way to do it. Then when we have the main collection point we can work out how to get them from each area to that point.

Fantasia, I'm thinking you have one amazing daughter and I'm proud of her too, even though I don't know her.

So a plan...your daughter appears to be up and running, the very fact she is not allowing this devastating and shocking news to stop her with her ambition and desire to work is fantastic.
So I suppose at the moment its about thinking a bit laterally about the situation.

    Three options that I can see;

A job, any kind of job but a job with a wage.

Her field of expertise kind of work, this will require effort and drive but your daughter already has them so its a question of getting herself out there and reminding people she exists and she is bloody good at what she does.

Setting herself up in business, much like our very own MGM...would that be an option for her at all? Is this an area that could be explored?

Also there are other income generating options, the important thing here is to discount nothing, ebay selling, prime time for getting 'stock' in and reselling, we have Christmas coming up, there are niches to fill. I made over £1000 profit last christmas selling on ebay, I chose my market well, researched and went for it...hard work but worth the effort.

Setting up her own cleaning round, ironing service, babysitting....its all income generating, that's how she needs to see them as opposed to a step away from her chosen profession.

Much love, light and universal direction to you all. xx

  • Well I haven't done any paperwork :o yet :)

But I have moved my little boy after some very minimal repainting as it was only decorated 6 months ago into his very own spiderman room so there is going to be one very happy little boy when he comes home from school:j and it was very MSE too as I found the spiderman stuff reduced whilst I was looking for something else:money:

Now I just have to turn what was their shared bedroom into a princess bedroom a bit more work involved there as the walls will have to be repainted as stickers and ripped border have to be removed and also a couple of murals courtesy of my little boy surprisingly over his sister's bed not his :D Also need to put in new blinds and a new carpet as it is horrid thanks to my OD whose room it was initially and is a menace to all things of a carpet nature:mad:

The very good news about this is there is no reason now why all their toys shouldn't be upstairs which means I can regain my lounge and thereby decluttering downstairs:D

So that is their post school task with mummy's help of course to sort which toys belong to who and put them away in their bedrooms there is lots of empty storage now so this should be relatively easy - probably famous last words:rotfl:

I do like it when a plan comes together
