  • OK I have to go out to a meeting soon but if people would like to pm with their email address and the area they would be prepared to collect from I will draw up a map and see where the gaps are. I will then post a list and see if we can fill the inbetweens. Claire I have noted Caerphilly and Cardiff.

    Oops just realised I had better go and clear my pm box

    Fantasia, I'm thinking you have one amazing daughter and I'm proud of her too, even though I don't know her.

    So a plan...your daughter appears to be up and running, the very fact she is not allowing this devastating and shocking news to stop her with her ambition and desire to work is fantastic.
    So I suppose at the moment its about thinking a bit laterally about the situation.

    Three options that I can see;

    A job, any kind of job but a job with a wage.

    Her field of expertise kind of work, this will require effort and drive but your daughter already has them so its a question of getting herself out there and reminding people she exists and she is bloody good at what she does.

    Setting herself up in business, much like our very own MGM...would that be an option for her at all? Is this an area that could be explored?

    Also there are other income generating options, the important thing here is to discount nothing, ebay selling, prime time for getting 'stock' in and reselling, we have Christmas coming up, there are niches to fill. I made over £1000 profit last christmas selling on ebay, I chose my market well, researched and went for it...hard work but worth the effort.

    Setting up her own cleaning round, ironing service, babysitting....its all income generating, that's how she needs to see them as opposed to a step away from her chosen profession.

    Much love, light and universal direction to you all. xx
    Thank you triker, thank you, thank you, thank you.
    I've e-mailed her the link to this thread, a lot of food for thought here, and action speaks louder than words. She keeps asking why I am so much more positive these days and she kind of looked a bit sceptical when I said it was down to a forum thread, but she doesnt know what kind of thread or how special it is, or how special the people are that participate, but IF she reads, (fingers crossed).
    Thank you again.

  • I am currently hooked into the BBC on my work computer, listening to the performing monkeys in the Houses of Parliament pretending to ask questions of the Prime Minister. Never have I felt so strongly that anarchy is a sound alternative to a political system!! :D They all act like school boys at a fight. This is the "Mother of Parliaments"? Its a disgrace. Send them all to the naughty step. Geez. :mad:

    Is it sad that I am excited about what the CSR is going to say? Even if my job might go in the cuts?! It feels like I am watching history in the making.

  • Me too Crickett - here we go....!
  • Can't help but feel that as scary and as hurtful as this CSR is going to be...Ain't it MSE though?! :D
