So we are in agreement that Browns reign was a bit of a balls up?

Unlike the Tories who have only been in power 5 minutes and have provoked the biggest drop in property prices on record?

    correct and 100% guaranteed

avoiding the economic crisis would have been virtually impossible

A bit of effort and a little more long term realism and the crisis would have been nowhere near as bad. Good management is about smoothing out the bumps.
  • Because these ghouls have put their lives on hold for years and YEARS hoping and praying for the crash that never was. It's hilarious. Keep paying off your landlords mortgages you ghouls.

Sorry to get personal mate, but I really think you ought to get yourself another hobby ;)

    Thought for the Day

You may be able to buy a cheaper house BUT will you still have a job which will enable you to pay for it?

    Laura

anyone who buys a house no matter what the price has that thought in their mind. so whats your point?
Maidstone Prices - average reductions at 8.5% (£19,668) Feb 2012 - We thought the dudes were not allowed to drop prices?

We have to judge the Tories on their record not the fantasy you are imaging up for yourself here.

The truth - the Tories have been in power for a few months and property is crashing the most on record. FACT.

I would suggest that is because Browns policies removed most of the foundations. it was just a matter of when.

    Couple of points:

    1. Labour were about as socialist as I am a Martian.
    2. The Conservatives voted for the invasion of Iraq. Hence why they've never really put the boot in over the decision.

Fair point on your experiences, a friend of mine had two tours in Iraq plus at least one in Afghanistan. Fortunately he doesn't seem to froth like you do.

Absolutely disagree on the first point. Although their economic policies were right of centre, their social engineering wasnt, and the "monitoring of the state" and "big brother" aspects were hardly liberal were they? I watched V for vendetta the week before the election, for the very first time and couldnt help but think about Labour all the way through it.

    If you think

    ID cards
    CCTV
    increased phone taps
    ID cards
introduction of widescale "multiculturalism" without mandate
and a host of other socialist engineering projects

are conservative ideals, you need to re-appraise the history books.

Second point, the invasion perse was not badly planned, what was badly planned was a DIRECT result of pie in the sky socialist thinking that "we could all get along" and not realising the significant cultural differences that existed. Only a socialist could do that. To make matters worse, they wouldnt listen when numerous conservative party members with significant experience in the region tried to point out what was going wrong; unfortunately, Tone thought that the guys we should have been killing were OK and turned them into the ones that formed the next government. Lunacy, megalomania and complete arrogance of the type that can only come from a socialist.

But canty you see that the effects of the global downturn would have been less severe if we didnt have such a public/private sector imbalance, that we had run a surplus in the good years and had stricter lending limits during the boom years? Effectively like many people who were labelled "crackpots" asked for from 2004 onwards, guys like vince cable and capital economics?

You can suggest what you like. The truth is the truth- the Tories have caused a massive property crash because they have massively damaged consumer confidence.

    No.

They are returning things to normality. Huge difference.

What? It's normal for consumer's to have no confidence?
I might have to agree with that - it's normal for consumers to have no confidence living under a Tory government!
