Fro LauraW10 slightly odd views, I would guess she is either a public sector worker or a professional claimant.

It's her right for someone else to pay for her to exist INNIT.

Whats the matter, bitter about a pending cut to your public sector/bbc non-job? Get over yourself love.

HA! HA! Far from it. As I've said here before, I only ever personally do well under the Tories!

But I can't see how anyone can believe this is good news.

Here they go, just gave it a brief mention and swiftly moved on.

I forgot Halifax were reporting the figures today, and missed a lot of the Breakfast News.

I would have thunk that the Halifax`s biggest fall on record is not exactly insignificant, and as the BBC always used to gleefully report "another 1.4% risie in property prices", they would be even handed and give today`s news an equal amount of publicity.

Mmmmmm, I`ve always wondered what Hamish did for a living, I`m beginning to suspect that he`s a news editor at the Beeb.

yes quite... Ted Heath's Government and the economic crisis he caused... the Falklands War... Right to Buy.... de-regulation of the City in the late 1980s... and let's not even mention John Major... no wait that wasn't your beloved Tories, that was those bl00dy socilaists
Margaret Thatcher was not a socialist

No she wasnt. But then again, they are about to strike a pretty big mineral (oil and precious metals) find down in the FI, so I guess we will see how pointless las malvinas was in a couple of months.

It wasnt the tories that socialised the planning system, enforced minimum planning densities, prevented development in decent areas and insisted pure scum "local authority types" were mixed in with decent middle class people who actually had jobs.

Dave is the Son of Maggie. and hopefully will give those lazy !!!!!!!s who cant be bothered to work but are able a firm boot up the jackseye.

Not necessarily good news, just inevitable. We would heve been a lot better off now if the bubble and overspending had never happened.

Stick to the facts. Getting personal is very low.

Doesn't fit the profile for the new "Old Labour" either.

Only the Labour party could vote in a leader no one wanted.......

There is nothing normal in expecting house prices to double every 6 or 7 years.
There is nothing normal in expecting the government to go on spending way more than it is taking in year on year.
Things were so badly managed that when reality finally hit, it caused all sorts of problems that could have been avoided.

I don't wont HPs to go up? Where did I say that?

Flat would do me. No good will come from HPs falling off a cliff.
