I agree with you on that, wish the last government who you seem so keen on had as well.

From what you say am I right in thinking we only have HPI under Labour Governments

No - it'll be the consumer confidence as described by economists

Judging by today's figures consumers aren't feeling confident at all?

    Whose fault is that?
Their own. If they had realised 6 years ago that economic "growth" was built on debt and the deficit, would they have enjoyed the quality of life typified by Labours boom years? You know, the ones Brown promised would never happen again?

Hows the whole Labour Party membership thing going anyway? How does it feel to have a party leader that due to AV had less votes than his big brother? How does it feel to have a party leader who is going to be useless at getting Labour re-elected? Pretty rubbish if you ask me. If I had talked up labour for as long as you had, and been brainwashed by all their socialist nonsense, I would be pretty gutted right now at the prospect of another 4 and a half years of coalition cuts to the socialists wasteful state.

    She`s gone.

Oh dear, did I frighten her ?

I`d have thought someone earning >£150K would be a better at this than her.

    Flat house prices.

As long as those prices stay flat from where they are today, not 7 years ago, I suppose.

Not sure, but coupled with an ever decresing budget deficit and a massive expansion of consumer credit, it is a recipe for disaster.

Earning potential is not the same as ability.

I would put money on public sector.
Very little connection between value and salary.

Graham, I haven`t locked horns with here before, but she seems a real fiesty one (and a rather easy opponent).

Does she come here often ?
