Can you post a graph of it then please?

Because these ghouls have put their lives on hold for years and YEARS hoping and praying for the crash that never was. It's hilarious. Keep paying off your landlords mortgages you ghouls.

Are you really incapable of having a life if you didn't live in a property you had debt leveraged against? Personally, I suffer not such malediction.

In 2005 I began renting a flat that sold for ~£145k (new build). I moved due to work in 2009, the flat was worth ~£110k (Sales of other flats in the large development).

I'm renting again now, the property I am in has gained no value (according to Zoopla). I would have saved some money (£1,500) if I had bought, assuming I could sell now at the price (pre-latest halifax). I am likely to need to move again this year due to work. The cost of selling would wipe out any saving so far.

Renting has without doubt been the better decision for me. I didn't know it for sure at the time of course. I'm better off financially, have been able to move without the hassle of selling and had both properties well maintained by the owner.

I expect I will buy in the next 18 months. This is because I think I'll be more settled geographically for a couple of years and I think we are about to see a moderate decrease in house prices which will make it a good time to buy.

that's all very nice but this is exactly what you said

    and here's what i said...

we'd now have to blame "the last lot" for the global crisis of 2008 because there aren't many countries that don't have economic issues...

    obviously "the last lots" fault...

The only point I am making is that if the last government had not grossly overspent (and borrowed) we would be in a stronger position now. Are you saying that is wrong?

Oh come on - do house prices ever "trend down relatively gradually" ? - they always fall off a cliff!

Who knows. Maybe it's different this time :D

I posted the piece as I thought it was interesting, not because I necessarily agree or disagree with any part of it.

no. that's a fact and pretty obvious.

what is also a fact is that there not many (if any) major economies that been uaffected by the golbal economic crisis.

Or maybe they realise having an economy based on a bubble is not sustainable in the medium term and have decided to try and sort it out. As opposed to the last lot that just went on pretending all was OK until it hit the buffers.

So lets have a property crash that will solve everything....:j:j

    Put everyone on the dole.............................................:j:j

    Fantastic
