I don't feel like a caring person it just feels like the right thing to do but I am a little frustrated for DA's benefit that more of her great nieces and nephews who live in the same town don't go to see her.

Being frustrated doesn't get things done.:)

You know the saying ' life wasn't meant to be easy'...?:o

It is happening again. DS2 who has only been in his new house two weeks was told that NHS direct doesn't want any agency staff any more and not to go in again. Job ended...... just like that!!! He was upset, shocked, dismayed..

I have tried to help him see the positive in it and have found him a part time accountancy course he can do in his own time, hopefully he will get funding. He has some things to do tomorrow. If we can keep him focussed he should be okay.:)

Hopefully he won't find me to be interfering as I also contacted a relative in the employment agency trade to see if they could help. And I will also contact another who is an accountant tomorrow. Up to now my kids have found their own way but DS2 seems to have been dealt a few cruel blows over the last few years..

Spends today were on meat. I spent £22 as we have none left and the men who work were struggling a bit with hunger. Not my fault they don't eat cake or puddings :D:p

Cottage has a few short break payments trickling in..... things looking good there.:D

    Blimey, your poor DS.
    It just keeps coming.
No harm in speaking to people who may be able to help.

Today is a new day :D a fresh start.

Let us see what life has in store for us today :D

My title of my thread should probably be changed. Maybe debt free in twenty years :D Despite all the extra expenses I think we should still aim to be debt free by age 60. That gives us 5.5 years :D

We are going to have a whip round around DSs and DD and us to get together the £140 DS2 needs to start his course then he has a focus. It is a distance learning course but whilst job hunting it gives him an extra focus.

Today is definitely going to be a spend day as we have run short of lots of things.4ldi first then see where we go afTer that. DD is taking me to nearest market town :D

DB2 who lives in Oz is 50 today so I have sent him a £10 4mazon voucher. Just hope he finds it among his junk mail. It is a lot less than I spent on DSister but it will have to do.

I am going to do a meal plan for the month, stick it on the fridge, and try to use up as many old freezer contents as I can . I am thinking of the rabbits in there which need to be used up.

Just realised when I said we had no meat I wasn't truthful as we have three or four rabbits. I just find them a faff to do and time consuming. With all our travelling around I have gone for easy to cook ingredients.

Meal plan and shopping list are now written so I am ready when DD arrives.

I phoned DS2 and he was still asleep. He struggled to get to sleep last night so slept in today. he should be talking to the Jobcentre now. :) Last time he was unemployed he didn't sign on for a month as he didn't want to. This time he knows how it works.

I have spoken to DC as she saw DA last night. Still confused and not very happy. But DU may be discharged today. I was told he wouldn't survive. He is a fighter :D 87 and with fractured ribs. He is DA's brother. .

  • Lots going on for you as usual pooh! Well done for coping brilliantly!

Re DS2 and job hunting, would he consider going for a Christmas temporary job? I know Mr A are starting to recruit now. I was taken on as a temp 3 years ago and I'm still there! Xx

Thank you for the advice folks. I have let DS know about 4sda jobs.

Mr P had a blip on Monday night so yesterday was a recovery and positive reinforcement day. back to the hospital later this afternoon. Mr P was paid £120 for some work last week so we are going to use it for petrol and then pay a bit more off the garage bill.

Brizzled I haven't sewn anything this week. Must get back on to it as it really does help.

We have been to and from the hospital this afternoon.

Mr P managed a morning at work while the weather held. The journey to the hospital was good but coming home was a nightmare with the spray.

We put £43 petrol in the car. It is cheaper over there, but it is a long way to go to save 5p a litre :D

One of the nurses asked me to go and buy some slippers for DA as she couldn't get her feet into hers :( I found a pair for £5 in Mr A so if they don't fit it isn't too bad.

Oh and I bought myself a yoghurt for an extortionate amount at the petrol station as I was peckish. (£1.25)

Tonight brizzled I will sew :D

When the shepherd's pie is cooked and eaten.

We brought DS2 home with us so we can feed him ad he can use our phone for free calls to job agencies.
