I am babysitting DGD today while DD is at work. After work she is collecting some shelving from a fellow Freegler for our local foodbank.

DS2 is coming over soon to take over from me so I can post some things. I have 4 parcels to post so I reckon on around £20 spends for today.

I checked my business loan today and it is now £24797. I am very pleased. I was aiming for under £25000 so I could access more lending to cover the lean Winter months but this time I have been so very careful that I think we should not only survive but might be able to take some money for living expenses. Therefor we are making a profit!!!! It doesn't matter how much or how little. We are both delighted to be making a profit. :D

Tonight's frugal meal is Basa from 4ldi coated in breadcrumbs from the freezer, served with mushy peas and home made chips. When I have ends of loaves I whizz them in the food processor and freeze for future use. My freezer is extremely well used.I:)

  • Great news that you're making a profit :T no matter how big or small a profit is a profit :D so pleased for you! P.s good idea on ends of loaves because no one eats them here ...do you wait until they are hard/bit stale before whizzing up and freezing? X

Sorry I didn't answer you dfw, our internet connection is very patchy at the moment.

brizzled is right. It is much easier to whizz up stale bread. Crusts that people leave in the bread bag can be improved by leaving out for a couple of hours to dry out a bit. The breadcrumbs are very useful for lots of dishes. I make fish cakes using my defrosted breadcrumbs too.

We have belly pork joint from 4ldi for dinner today. I am hoping it will be easy for Mr P to do as I am going to hospital with DS2 to see DA today. .. I am hoping she will be in a better humour than last time I saw her :( She told me to go away :(

Mr P has a very bad back all of a sudden. You should see the pair of us trying to help each other. It is comical :rotfl:

He can't do the driving so it is very lucky we collected DS2 from his house and brought him home for the weekend or longer.....

plmbl where did you see Mr A Christmas jobs advertised. They weren't on website.

  • They were asking all the departments how many Xmas temps they needed a couple of weeks ago in preperation for advertising. I thought the adverts would have 'gone live' by now, they must be due soon so keep an eye. There are some vacancies on the staff notice board already Xx

This thread is probably becoming a bit boring:)
Yesterday I went to see DA again. She seems to be getting worse not better. :( didn't really want to see me and blames me for her being there. She is still confused :(

On the way home I took £20 out of the bank and bought myself some fat free yoghurt and some fresh fruit to eat on the way home. I spent £2.45 but I needed the food.

When we arrived home dinner was cooked so Mr P managed. It is lovely to come home to a cooked meal.

Mr P still is having difficuly walking so isn't at work this morning but hopes to be able to go this afternoon.

I should be going to the local craft group this morning but don't really feel like it as I had another disturbed night.

Today's plan is to go through our income and expenditure and find out if we have anything to throw at our debts today.

And try to get some 'keep' money from DS1 :D

Mr P was a lot better this afternoon so decided to give work a go. he isn't home yet so must be making up for missing work this morning.

He took me to my craft group where they had started making papier mache bowls. I haven't made anything like that since primary school.

It was very easy but gave us a good laugh. I haven't had wallpaper paste up to my elbows for a very long time. :D

I the did some tidying up and have just realised that I haven't checked our finances yet. I think I am avoiding it as I want to be able to sleep better tonight. Last night it was thoughts of DA which kept me awake.
