Thank you for your concern over DGD. DGD was discharged but was still poorly yesterday when I went over. She is clingy and crying as though in pain constantly :( Her temp had spiked again during the night too. I am hoping that today she will begin to be her normal jolly self. I am also pleased that DD and DSIL didn't see her at her worst.

Yesterday I did some planning in the morning. As I am going to DAks today I wanted to make sure I was prepared.

I spent £30.04 in our local coop. I bought 2kg lean mince, 1kg stewing steak and some potatoes, carrots, swede, onions and bisto.
Normally I wouldn't waste money on Bisto but DA likes it. After helping DD in the afternoon I came home and with help from DS2 cooked a beef stew with vegetables in it, all the mince which I then split into two batches to make cottage pies and bolognese sauce. I will split again to make chilli.

I fed the men mince and tatties, I had a jacket potato with the bolognese as it had lots of peppers in it too. I have 5 small cottage pies, 2 small tubs bolognese sauce for DA and 4 larger ones for DB. I will make the chilli when I get home tonight and give DB 4 chillis too.

I still have lots to put into bags/tubs and freeze for us too. It will be good on bad flare up days to be able to grab something from the freezer.

It has been great having DS2 home as he has been a massive help. He even drove the 35 miles to the hospital to collect DD and DGD in my car as we have air conditioning in there, to keep babe cool.

So, today I need to crack on and with DS's help finish DA's seat and back cushions for her armchair. And make surew I don't forget all the meals for DA to go in her freezer. I am concerned she might not have space but will deal with that when I get there. It is a 50 mile journey and we leave when DS1 finishes his shift at work at 11. It gives me 2 hours to finish cushions so must fly.

    I am now brizzled :D

DA was delighted with her cushions. I finished of loose ends as we travelled in the car. She liked the food too. We took her shopping. She stayed in the car and gave instructions. It was a good system as we were at local bakery and greengrocers. DS1 cut her lawn and I helped with things in the house.

After we went to 4ldi and did a big shop for us. Spent £104 but is should last us two weeks. Then we were very decadent and bought fish and chips for the three of us. It cost £18. It seemed wrong but we were shattered. I also bought petrol in the city for £54. It was just 1p a litre cheaper than our local garage.

Today DD and Mr P are cleaning cottage and I am having a rest.

  • Glad you are having a day of rest! We also had Fish & Chips for tea last night (well DH had fish, I just had chips!) as I'd craved them all day after smelling them at the coast yesterday afternoon. Sometimes you just have to treat yourself! Xx

  • Evening pb :) I've spent the last few days reading your diary...I'm so glad that DGD and DA are both ok now. Also glad to see things have gotten a little easier now I hope it continues for you. By the way I find it truly humbling that you still continue to help others in need when you're not in the best position yourself. :) dfw xx
