Thank you for reading my diary DFW.

DGD is a lot better today. Despit our difficulties we know there are plenty a lot worse off than us so do what we can. DA is delighted with her home made meals as she hates bought foods. DB is a different kettle of fish. We made a roast dinner and his is plated up. He wouldn't come for dinner when invited so I will drop it off to him tomorrow. He doesn't get away with it so easily. He hasn't been eating properly.

Today we had a special treat. We went to the Farne islands to see the puffins and seals. We went on a boat trip which didn't land so a bit cheaper then DSIL paid for us. We went in our car to save on fuel costs. Baby slept most of the travelling time and was too little for the boat. Trip but all the adults had a very enjoyable day. The. Weather was glorious and the sea as flat as a mill pond. DD and DSIL had to cancel a trip South to a wedding so thought if babe was well enough they would have a day out and invited us. When we got home DS1 had made a lovely roast dinner for us which was another lovely surprise. So my spends today was £5.50 for ice creams for everyone. And a bottle of coke for DS1 at £1.69.

Yesterday I had an assessment of the house for a suitable heating system for here. We have been given info on wood pellet boilers. It might be an easier way to heat the place and cheaper too. I await the quotation with dread......

Today I am catching up on some personal paperwork. Yesterday was a NSD and hopefully today will be too. I have a parcel to post but it is somethig left behid by a cottage guest so I must remember to pay from our business account. There are numerous things I have posted and paid from personal account.

Only one person has acknowledged delivery and thanked me :D Someone on here :D

I have booked the social car scheme for tomorrow to get me and two friends to a support group. It costs us just £7 between us.
Then I will go to the hospital with DD and DGD for her blood test.

I have another grant to apply for as recommended by my old union. My memory is still rubbish as I printed out the application form then put it in the paper recycling box yesterday. So this afternoon I will be printing it out again!!

I have had my first mange tout from my pea plants! :D Mr P complained that I ate it all! He wants me to share the next one with me :D

I picked my second mange tout last night and gave it to Mr P before dinner. He shared it with me :D

Nothing else to eat in the garden except blackcurrants ATM. The courgette plants have had lots of flowers but no courgettes growing :( And DD who lives even higher than us has courgettes growing on her plants, which I gave her!

Today we went to a presentation of 'Walker's Welcome' status for our Parish. Lots of new walks leaflets have been produced and are only 50p each. And a Wainwright walk which goes through here is being promoted this year. Hopefully lots more walkers will come through our doors.

We are now full until November so with careful budgeting we should be able to make it through until Christmas. And beyond if we have a few more bookings. The cottage is just about self sustaining again, just don't want it to be costing us money like last Winter. Oops!

Next year we will be away a lot so it would be good if we could make enough to be able to pay someone to clean, do laundry and iron for us whilst we are all away. ATM no one is being paid and DD is owed a lot.

I spent £1 on two cushion covers and £2 on four wine glasses in our local AgeUK shop. So not a NSD but sensible spend day :D

Fish pie for dinner and as I have had to defrost a large amount of fish I will make two and freeze one.

DA has told me she didn't like the meals I made for her last week as home made is better!!! You just can't win with some people. :D

I just remembered we found some bargain clothes in Mr S yesterday which we bought for DA. We have 28 days to take them back if she doesn't like them, which is quite likely. It was too good a bargain to miss and she is having problems finding things to fit as she has lost so much weight.

DGD had to see the paediatrician yesterday for a blood test. She sat really still and didn't make a sound or struggle while they attempted to find a vein. I was feeding her satsuma as they tried and she was more interested in the food than in what they were doing.
