Thanks for reading and subscribing Bob.

I must go back and read it again some time as we are a little off track ATM I fear :D

We currently have various members of the family deciding whether we go and help out DA today or will she send us packing! I will let the potential drivers decide.....

  • Not off track at all, life circumstances get in the way and your up and down journey is similar to my own. We are currently experiencing a 'down' period but this time i am prepared for it in as much as i expect these things.
The forums are a great mine of information and i re read and learn a lot. Keep on going :D

As ever beautifully put..in my case the scenic dawdle has taken 9 years and counting ... I read that b£oody book that was meant to turn me into a frugal downshifting control freak in Sept 2003....ridiculous

Main thing is that we are all here plodding away now :)

Thank you Bob, beanielou and brizzled. The three 'Bs'! :D

It has really helped me to know that I am not the only one. Before I started this diary and subscribed to others I thought it was just me and felt a complete failure. ow I am happily plodding via the scenic route. :D

We wet to DA's on Friday. DB and Mr P came along too. I took the Mr S size 8 and children's clothes we bought in the sale. DA tried them all on and decided to keep a few bits. I will ask DD to take the unwanted items back today. Poor DA is so thin....She is in good hands having lots of tests still. My fear is that she still isn't eating properly....and it is a 100 mile round trip, at least..

Mr P mended the loo for DA and DB kept her amused with tall tales.

We bought petrol at £56 and then bought fish and chips for 3 of us and a bottle of water for £20.30!!!! It is becoming a habit. DB was very grateful. He had three meals last week.

On the way home we phoed DS2 and he was free yesterday so we brought him home.

He has gone back this morning and has left his coat, flask and a bag of food I gave him.

I made a roast dinner yesterday ad have plated up one for DB which he can have later today. We try to look after him :)

We also went out to see DSIL playing in his silver band at an open air museum. DS2 came with us so it was a good family day out. DD paid for our entry and DS2 bought us all tea and cake Yum

This afternoon there is a WI garden party being held locally and I am going to dress up and take DGD for an hour. Mr P is home today as rain is stopping work. He can take us and collect us to save on trying to fid a parking spot nearby.

Then once DGD is in bed tonight DD is going to spend time helping me fill in my benefit forms.

ETA Barclays Finance loan is £10,001!! Almost under 10k :D

Just need to get the other Barclays loan under 25k ad I will feel I have broken the back of them both.

CC's and other loan are on hold as they are personal. Both Barclays are business loans.

plmbl, thank you but I am not, just doing what needs to be done.

We are having our cavity wall insulation done on Thursday :j:j:j:j

It is a tiny 80's extension but one of the coldest spots in the house. It is costing £325 but DS3 is paying for it. Because it is less than 1/3rd of size of the rest of the house we have to pay and believe me I have spent months researching it :D

DS3 is an angel. He has also offered to pay to but the insulated boards we need to finish hall ceiling. The house should be a bit cosier for this coming Winter. :A

We received the quote for a wood pellet boiler plus lots of other work which needs to be done e.g. remove storage radiatorss and put in radiators. We would then have a whole house heated instead of just of part heating.

DH has no work today> He has work for next Monday which is a definite.
Instead of working for payment he is working here. He has cut grass and then moved all the things that had to be moved for the insulation going into the back wall. :)
