Beanielou, how are you doing? I hope life is treating you well.
Yesterday I spent £2 in AgeUK shop on a lightweight cotton cardie to cover up my arms when out. DD bought me a pot of tea at a local hotel. They brought out a huge box of toys for DD so she had a whale of a time.
I had to go to town to pay my internet for last month and this month as the neww Ddebit hadn't been set up. The bank change has gone quite smoothly. I just have to pay for the dog's healthcare plan and DH's NI and all is set up.
Because we were given the grant our bank account is in credit! First time since we started the business. Also because we have a new account and have been given a breathing space by the coop on our old overdraft.
Today I am going to have a day out at a local tourist attraction where our businesses are given advice etc. They are going to mention ours so being nosy I booked myself in. It costs £10 but is a business expense as is a business seminar.
I spent a couple of hours trying to finad a Green Deal provider who will install solid wall insulation for us and got absolutely no where. Seems because we are in a low populated area businesses don't want to work here. The union have offered something towards a new heating system and want a quote. Again no quotes yet. DSIL has booked next Friday off work to see if he can help.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Just popped by to see how things are going for you and I'm pleased things are so positive
. Wow about the charity grant, that's brilliant.
Imagine having your bank account in credit, I can only dream of that!! Last week I went flat-hunting with my son ready for his final year at uni. One lettings agent said they will only rent to students if they have a parent guarantor, and they would need sight of my last three months bank statements!! Needless to say we went with a different agent :rotfl:! How embarassing would that have been!?

I have to be honest. The old bank account has a humungous overdraft but the new is in credit and has to stay that way.

Arent Benevolent funds wonderful things?
I don't know where we would have been without the benevolent fund. They have given me my life back. I don't spend all day every day moving money around and chasing loans etc. And I am now sleeping.
After spending Friday researching funding for heating and insulation we found a few answers. One company said they would be here on Monday. I was very impressed but not so by the end of Monday when no one turned up. I rang them on Tuesday and they said no one came as we are out of the area they cover.
I have someone coming on Thursday to assess the walls of the house for insulation. We have a small 80's extension on the back of the kitchen which is one of the coldest parts of the house. Every time we have been offered free cavity wall insulation we turned it down as the house is solid stone. I never thought about the extension. We can't get it free as it has to be at least 30% of the house and it is quite tiny but nevertheless a cold spot.
On 3rd I have a company coming to give us a price for a heating system. I need to find another company for a second quote.
Thursday is DA's 83rd b'day so we will have to send her a card and go to see her on Friday. I am still fighting with a curved cushion for a curved chair back which I am attempting to make for her.
This week I have been out twice. On Thursday I visited a drug rehabilitation centre, which is run by a charity, to see what we can do to help.
Then on Friday I went on a coach trip to the seaside for the day. It cost £12.50 but I paid for it from Amazon and ebay sales. We had a wander around the shops and I found card shops with cards at 10 for £1. I went mad and bought 20. £2 spent on 20 cards will save me a lot of money. I also bought myself a hat for the September wedding. It is black but I will decorate it to suit my outfit. Probably a new ribbon and some beads. So far my outfit has cost £11. I still need some shoes but I could go for black and wear something I already own.........it would be more MSE.
Today we are having a quiet time, not going out. I am going to cook up a huge batch of mince and onions and make meals for DA and DB to put in their freezers. I will make some for us too and a shepherds pie for tonight. I found some yellow stickered mince on Thursday so bought 6lbs.
I also need to make some rhubarb and ginger jam and another batch of chutney. Maybe a crumble or two. Our cottage guests left lots of food as they couldn't take it with them. I am wondering what to do with rice crispies and cornflakes.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Great card bargains.
I tend to try to buy cards when I am at my nearest town.

I wrote a long post yesterday morning which seems to have vanished
All my plans for a NSD were thrown out as I ended up going to hospital with DGD as a 999 case!!
I usually look after her on a |Tuesday when DD is at work but her other GParents wanted to help.
I had a phone call from other Granny asking if DGD usually twitched and growled when she was asleep. Mr P turned up at the door as he had cut my friends phone line by acccident doing some work on her house and needed something to repair it.
I got him to drive me the 3 miles to DDs house. When I got there grandfather had babe on his chest with a damp cloth on her head and she was growling and gurning and was totally unresponsive. I stripped her and put her on the sofa in recovery position.
Other granny dialled 999 and in what seemed like minutes we had 2 GPs, 2 ambulances and an air ambulance. DGD had another fit so we were whisked away in the ambulance. GP decided road was okay so air ambulance left. Babe then slept the whole way to hospital 1 hr 15 minutes!! I was still worried as she didn't seem to recognise me and was not responding but as we arrived at the hospital she woke up and was watching the lights on the ceiling. The greatest relief of my life!
DD arrived at the hospital straight after me so she was able to take over but we stayed until DSIL arrived.
Spends were £12.90 for lunch for 3 of us at 4pm then £15 for dinner for four last night as no one wanted to cook. We bought 2 Chinese meals for 2 and a bottle of wine. Money doesn't matter at all when DGD is okay.
She is still there but being discharged later. She needs to go back for follow up and maybe antibiotics when other results are back.
Yesterday DSIL had arranged to collect DS2 and bring him home for a few days. He left work early so had to leave DS2 behind. I managed to arrange for DS1 to go to a town 25 miles away to collect DS2 from the bus and promised to pay the petrol so I owe that too. All in all not a NSD but all worthwhile.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Blimey! I hope you get answers soon and yes I can understand that NOT being a NSDMust use my stash up!0

DA has had another fall too. broken her thumb and I think elbow.
I feel bad but we can't go to her until Friday pm. Yesterday I had planned to make some shepherd's pies and other meals to freeze for her. I will try to do some later when it isn't so hot. We will do some shopping for her and some jobs like cutting the grass and cleaning. DS 1 works until 11 on Friday so he can take me over.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527
