I have been bitten by a horsefly or cleg as it is called locally. I had two bites, one on my arm and one on my lower leg. The arm is just about 3 cm across but the legbite is now huge. Last night I was hot one minute and shivers the next.
I have a Doc appointmet at 2pm for meds. I have a prepayment certificate so try to get anything I need from GP rather than buying at the chemist.

Clegs are vicious nasty wicked evil little .......... with soft feet ! Had one bite me on the back of my hand last summer, my fingers swoll up like sausages and I couldnt bend them for about two days !
They land so softly that you dont feel them ! grrrrrrrrrrIts just a bad day, Not a bad life .. :cool:0 -
My GP told me they are easy to kill so I should be watching out for them and swipe at them. I didn't see either one that bit me until after the evil deed was done.
Mara you are right about the soft feet, you definitely don't know they are there until they bite.
Ouch for you last year. Cleg bites on fingers are much worse than legs because of all the extra nerves.

I am feeling ten times better today. The antibiotics are certainly working. Yesterday we went to one of the many outdoor pools we have nearby. DGD was in the paddling pool so I looked after her while her mum had a swim. It was great fun, then we met up with friends for lunch. I haven't seen them in months. They are the friends I used to go for a swim with every Friday. Hopefully I can start to do things like that again soon. I need the exercise for my health.
After lunch we went to 4ldi and I spent £74. Because of our grant I was able to buy lots of fruit and vegetables and meat. Our fridge is fullI don't feel like Old Mother Hubbard any more.
Today I have helped look after DGD while her mum cleaned the cottage. We bought a very wide safety gate for £10.04 on fleabay It arrived while we were in the cottage. It just fits the gap where the hallway meets the living room in the cottage so is ideal for babies and toddlers. It meant DGD only emptied kitchen cupboards and couldn't get to the bookcase and DVDs or the stairs.
Yesterday I also bought myself some sunglasses and some new underwear as I got very wet at the pool and shopping with damp undies was very uncomfortable. :rotfl::rotfl:
Luckily I had a change of clothes with me.
I felt very guilty spending on myself but I was really in need of sunglasses and new undies.:o
We have a French themed weekend in our local town and lots of French films are being shown. The cafes are selling French food. The town is bedecked with French flags too. DD is one of the organisers so she has some things to do this evening and is going with DSIL to watch a film. I get to look after DGD again.:) She will be in bed so I will just be going to sit with my feet up.:) The men can look after themselves after I have made a veggie chilli for us all.
Our business loan is steadily going down and we have almost paid off £5000. We have about two months to go until it is under £25000. We have been told when we can access cheaper loans when it is under £25000 so we are keeping our fingers crossed.
I have a letter from M8NA saying they owe me £111 for PPI payments. :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j
ETA My leg looks shockingly purple. I am hoping it will all disappear soon. I have a purple circle which is 6 cm diameter, 1 cm deep, inner is bright red, then a pink circle the size or a saucer surroudig it. It would be pretty if it wasn't part of my leg. Reading back it sounds as though I did loads yesterday but it was quite restful ad DD said she felt as though she was on holiday. I am hoping the weather will hold so I can have a swim next week.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

I am hoping to make today another NSD
DD bought two tickets for a French film in town this afternoon to say thank you for me babysitting last night. Mr P is playing quoits this afternoon. It is a friendly and they have asked the old timers to playIt means he can't come with me but DD is coming instead.
The allotment is in my name as DD and DSIL live in a different village and the idea is we do it together. I have been asked to go and paint the pavilion/shed this afternoon. Earlier in the week I said someone from out family will be there to help. Now everyone is busy so I am going to pop down there to make my excuse/apology and them go off to watch the film.
I hope everyone is having a lovely Sundayxx
Things are good and much more relaxed here than they have been in what feels like years. I want all of you to feel like this too.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527
