things are starting to move on at last. I am determined that I will not live in a sub 15oC house for another Winter. It was making me miserable and no fun to be with.
DB turned up to use the phone. I have made him a bacon sandwich and he is now up a scaffold tower in my hall helping Mr Pooh insulate/plasterboard the ceiling.
I have a load of holiday cottage washing in my neighbour's machine and am about to take two loads to DD as they both have free electricity today as the sun is shining. Very :money:business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

We had our cavity wall insulation today. It cost £325 but because Mr P could only get multiples of ten out of the cashpoint machine he took out £300 yesterday and £40 today> I will be chasing him for the change. He gave the guys an extra fiver because they were so good.
He has finished insulating and plaster boarding all our vaulted ceilings
Mr P also put up a shelf unit which has been on the floor waiting to go up for years. You know when you stop noticing things.......
He has disappeared to the recycling centre and has been a very lonngg time. I guess he has stopped to spend his £10. I might just go and join him. It is warmer there than here.
I have spent the day paying business bills and just pottering. One thing I have done is made a batch of mask liners for my CPAP mask. They cost £19.95 for a months supply. I have made them for freeDD gave me some old jersey fitted sheets she had been given. So no cost to either of us. They are clean, exactly right fabric and do the same job as the bought liners. Another very :money::D
Today is not a NSD and tomorrow won't be either as I might go for a swim. We used to go every week until finances became very tight.
ETA Idid't get to the pub as Mr P came home jusy after I posted on here. Another £1 saved on a cup of teabusiness mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Things continue to improve here
We have received a grant towards a new heating system. We now have enough for the deposit :j:j:j:j:j:j
We still don't have enough to pay the full cost but we have a few more avenues to explore in our quest for help.
Now today despite the new insulation I am sitting in a sitting room where the temperature is just 16oC. I have my coat on!! But I need gloves. I think it means I will have to make and light the fire today. I have been reading how dangerous it is to health to be in the cold for long lengths of time over the age of 50:eek:.
When I do light it I should lose a lot less heat than in the past so less wasted fuel too
Sadly I have heard that our local double glazing firm has gone into liquidation. I used them for the whole of the holiday cottage and was hoping to use them when we eventually had cash to spare to finish double glazing here. They were great, great service, great prices and great people.
Today I am going to collect and send some more info to our accountants. Then get on with some filing. I need to lower the mountain before it falls over.
Mr P is working for a friend today, indoors too so he is out of the mizzle. The last work he did has not been paid. He was working for people we call friendsHe is owed a lot. AND I had to pay for materials for them out of my grocery budget. It meant we have had to be extra, extra creative in meal planning. It was ONLY £68 at the time for materials. But now I could really do with it.
I wouldn't normally mention things about friends on here but this one is niggling away at me. They promised the full amount would be in our bank by last Monday and then yesterday but still nothing. She invited me to a spa day at £49 per person!! Maybe that is where she is trying to collect cash to pay Mr P.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Some people are not really the type of friends we need.
Sometimes I think part of it is that people have no concept of actually not having any money. Whereas when we say we have no money that is what we mean.

I am sure that is part of the problem: when we say we have nothing we have absolutely nothing .
