If you're comparing the movie to your imaginations interpretation of the book then of course you're going to be sorely disappointed. Hell, I can fly and do all sorts in my imagination.
It's not my interpretation of the book, it's the actual book itself. They've changed key plot points, made certain characters have different personalities, and taken out plot devices that are integral to moving the story along.
Unfortunately though, this is what we come to expect from Michael Bay, who is the directorial equivalent of a cheap firework - loud, bright and ultimately unsatisfying.0 -

I too saw I Am Number Four last night and whilst I enjoyed the film, I found it to be a formulaic tired teen story. I could have been watching an updated version of Superman

Flipping heck, is no-one allowed to give a film a bad write-up these days? Leave off!******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0

theres nothing wrong with people having different view points but its gets on my nerves when people give away main parts of the plot without putting "spoiler alert" in their post especially since it hasn't been released. I for one wasn't expecting the character to die but to be told before I had a chance to go just changes how you watch because all through the film you'd be thinking hes going to die anyway0

What character? Haven't seen anywhere on here where it says that a specific character is going to die...0 -

Wow - you must have real issues with proper critics. If everyone just went to see films that were their 'type', then it'd be a bit boring.0 -

I'm not fussed that you didnt like the movie. But you plainly said you dont like movies done by that specific director/film maker etc... so why go?!
It's like me hating james bond movies, then watching the newest one and slagging it off0 -

Well yes, obviously. The quote was "A main character" of which there are three or four in the film. Nowhere does it state which one.
By the way, it's also revealed in the trailer.0
