They must have had a change of mind! I agree with you about the past years, but also the past years they showed films they were still on the daily performances and this year is not the case. So, some changes.
I, personally, rushed to print the vocher( :mad:first the black and then the white one!) for nothing. Luckily I have seen what I wanted to see already and would not watch them again so soon after.
But it is a bummer because you will have to queue up... and be annoyed if you find someone you don't like is queueing as well :rotfl:

I've not seen Four Lions and TGWTDT so hoping to see those. Didn't quite get Inception the 1st time round (?!) so maybe that too...although not holding my breath I'll get it this time either!

Only thing is though...I HATE QUEUEING!!

  • Me and t'other half went to see I Am Number Four last night. Both of us enjoyed it and it's the first time I've got him to the cinema with me since he moved here five years ago! :j

Just called up Cineworld Shaftesbury Avenue and told tickets only available on the day of each screening! Previous years I've been able to take my vouchers and redeem for ALL films and get my tickets in advance.
Has anyone managed to get their tickets yet?

I was in Shaftesbury Avenue, this evening, handed over my vouchers and picked 4 tickets.

The young man said i did'nt not have to wait for the day of the screening. :j

Loads of people were turned away from the Greenwich Odeon tonight as I am Number 4 was completely over-sold.

I did it in the past years and yoou could always collect all your tickets at you convinience, that is well in advance but because this year things have change(meaning they are not showing the big "Baftas") I thought that might have changed too. BUT it hasn't:p
Good Luck and hope you manage to see everything you wanted:beer:

  • I went to see I Am Number Four last night. Before I saw the film, I was really positive about the whole thing. The book was really good, the storyline had potential, and the trailer seemed to hint at a decent film. However, I went to see it last night, and could not have been more disappointed. The directorial team of Michael Bay and DJ Caruso have managed to rip the heart and soul out of the book, leaving us with a simple throwaway tween acton movie. Even the pivotal death of a main character has been torn out of context, and switched from a valiant battle-field sacrifice to a meaningless car crash (much like the film itself).

Apart from Timothy Olyphant, the whole film was appalling. Dianna Agron shows that Glee really is the peak of her abilities (looking pretty and singing must be a lot easier than looking pretty and acting...), Alex Pettyfer is still as wooden as a bedside cabinet, and Teresa Palmer seems to think that mumbling her lines is the best way to hide the terrible dialogue. Special mention however has to go to the CGI, which looks amateurish bordering on childlike. Not wishing to spoil anything, but the climactic scene between two giant transforming dogs was so poor, people in the audience were laughing.

    Terrible. Absolutely terrible.

I take it this isn't a 'spoiler'? (although by the sounds of it, there's not much to spoil!)

Generally speaking I've heard mixed reviews but certainly no rave reviews, so I think I'll probably just read the book instead. Thanks!

Totally disagree. I really enjoyed the movie as did my parents who are well into their later years.

If you're comparing the movie to your imaginations interpretation of the book then of course you're going to be sorely disappointed. Hell, I can fly and do all sorts in my imagination.
