Ooooh, so I just watched the trailer to I am Number 4 and now I'm interested! Lol. And hub says it's a film he told me about ages ago - I bet it's one of the trailers he's been waving under my nose and I've been dismissing! Ha ha! Looks like a good film.0

I've just seen I am Number 4 last night... can't seem to recall anyone dying in a car crash?!!0

If the majority of what most people are saying about trailers and spoilers seems to be true, WHY ON EARTH would anyone go and see a film IF they've ALREADY READ THE BOOK, OR it's a REMAKE, OR it's based on a TRUE EVENT and similarly the story is already known ?
BTW, at the end of Titanic ... the ship sinks
And in both WWI AND WWII - Germany lost :rotfl:
Not everyone watches a film just so they can see what happens at the end.0 -

If I'm quite sure I won't like a film then I won't bother, even for free.
Bearing in mind that the films mentioned here tend to be discussed pre-release, I probably make more of an effort to find out what they're about, because I generally won't have heard about them yet elsewhere (in the media etc).
I agree that it wouldn't be much fun watching a film if you knew everything that was about to happen....but to my mind I don't do that! A general flavour doesn't mean a full on smorgasbord!!!
I still prefer to know nothing at all0 -

Hahaha!!! That did make me laugh!
Out of interest...is there already an existing protocol here, on this thread, about how to post/flag plot spoilers? I've seen loads of people chat about films they've seen, without any prior warning that plot details are about to be mentioned. If there are any forum guidelines about this then please somebody point them out!
If it's just a case of using 'common sense' then that's obviously where interpretation can become an issue...i.e. differences of opinion with regard to what a spoiler actually is.
To be fair, Seagullism did deliberately 'hide' one particular detail about the plot, in his/her review of IANF (putting it in white text so the reader had to make a conscious effort to reveal it) so he/she clearly didn't want to spoil anything for those who hadn't already seen the film.0 -

I have previously seen on this forum that when people reveal the plot, they write **SPOILER ALERT**, or something similar at the top and then often write the spoiler in white text so that the reader has to highlight the paragraphs to read. (obviously instructing the forum readers to do this in non-white text, otherwise people may just think they forgot to type)

I can't see that anyone would have a problem with flagging a spoiler...so now we just have to establish and come to a general consensus as to what the heck a spoiler is!0 -
Ashford has dropped off the screens again. Could do with a good movie!Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0

:eek:Does anyone know how you are supposed to use the vouchers for the BAFTA screenings? Do you take them along to get them in advance or do you just turn on the night and keep your fingers crossed?:rotfl:Survey Queen/Poundland Fanatic:rotfl:0
