the people complaining about sky only tickets.. why dont we have a separate board for each of the other company that offer free tickets to its customers, so sky, virgin, guardian, times + and the free codes board on top.. that's 5 if you're signed up to all...

then why not have a thread for each town/county... do you not hate loggin on just to see your area isnt there...

or why not every individual cinema.... let's flood the board with even more threads...

i'll let you decide which statements are laced with sarcasm

whilst I understand those who want individual threads for different sorts of free movies because they are not customers of that particular company but have email notifications every time someone post on the Code thread, I find it ironic they wish to discuss this and thus doing so send out more email notifications. Not everyone is a SKY, Virgin media or whatever customer but then who is a Guardian or Times or a girlie magazine customer? I know that I haven't bought a magazine or paper and I only have freeview yet manage to get tickets for most free previews.

Most of the time you find that the tickets go to a mixture of different sources. Take I am Number Four on the 21st Feb (my birthday), the SKY code came first but then a different code for the same night came about 2 weeks later so I use that one. I think in the end there were three different codes from different sources for the same showing. So those who are unhappy it is a SKY promotion be patient you might find a different code will appear. And if it doesn't then and it is exclusively for SKY then that's life. You haven't lost out because you are not a paying SKY customer and they are giving their customers a reward for being with them so why do you think you should be entitled to see the preview?

Ot just opt out of the email notifications for the code thread if you are upset that you are not entitled to the code given. That way you won't get any more emails especially when it is not even a code but chat going on.

On a completely different matter I exchanged my BAFTA vouchers for Inception and Toy Story on Tuesday night in Glasgow. They knew about it and I think were perfectly happy to exchange how many vouchers I had printed.

Toy Story is 2D not 3D in Glasgow. Check your local cinema listing to see.

how can i find out if any films will show in Peterborough?
  • Can I just say: I saw many comments in the CODES ONLY thread including one that tried to justify comments in the CODES ONLY thread as saying these comments may contain some useful information. Sorry but this is what THIS forum is for. If people don't check this one out it's their fault. You don't just start cross-pollinating clearly marked forums because YOU think it might be useful. Play by the rules please. It has already been pre-determined that we have two forums and it is pretty clear what both are for.

could I just add my thoughts on the raging debate on the other thread...

I appreciate that the other thread is for codes only hence me putting my thoughts here and not inflaming the situation an further...

do I think there should be 2 threads one for sky films and one for others...yes possibly...but I'm also quite cabable of scrolling through the listings to find films that appeal to me and are in locations close to me ....Im not a sky subsriber so the majority are of no interedt to me but I did see Chalet Girl in association with sky last week as a general code was put out...so from that point of view I took advantage of a sky screening that I might not have if there was a seperate thread...
On a seperate note if this continual abusing of the code thread continues it is possible moderators will close the thread as they have done previously with other threads when tensions ran high...this Would be a real shame as no one would benefit and we would all lose out on codes to see free films
I agree the other thread is not the place for chat and people MUST learn to respect that but neither is it the place for comments such as this

However much an appology is tagged to the end of it...that sort of comment will just add fuel to the fire

  • Yes, people complaining about comments in the CODES ONLY thread is even more annoying as they know they are doing wrong. We don't need to hear your frustrations, its not acceptable to comment in CODES ONLY to complain about others. Why does anyone care about your comments more than anyone else, you end up looking more of a prat. PM the person your frustration and comment in this here thread.

These forums are great. Let's respect them.
  • I wonder if we can we just call it a day now? I PM'd the original poster and I am now tired of the current discussion. I am a sky customer but none of the listings are in my area-ever. That does not mean that I want them to end!
Just hope that Exeter comes up at some point!!;)

Why is it that this user is logged on as LEJC, and the post edited by another user, thefrenzexperiment? Just how many people on this thread are logging on as someone else just to make it look like another user is contributing to an argument?
  • To be fair, the person I aimed my comment at has had MULTIPLE pms from MANY people in the past about their posting crap in the discussion thread, all to no avail.
