Am I right in saying that this card is only available to LTSB current account holders? If that the case how long could you open a current account with them? Can you do it over the internet or by branch?
Cheers
Changed to Lloyds a few months ago and shocked at how quick it took. If your going to purely open the account and not too worried about them changing all the DD's I'm sure they could have it up and running in a week or so. However with this offer, when you click on it it offers a credit limit which suggest they have been monitoring accounts over the past few weeks. Therefore I'm not sure that if you opened a new account, you would be able to take advantage of this straight away. Still, its worth the try and costs you nothing to try. Also you could also take advantage of the 2 yr fixed 8% regular saver account
Oh and back to how you can apply, you can do this over the phone, net or in branch (that latter being the quickest way I would imagine)0 -

Just to update everyone, I have recieved my Form, with the Terms And Conditions this morning ( Sat 7/10) .
It is definately 0% 9 months and FEE FREE, before the first six weeks of the transfer. For internet banking customers only though. Have signed and sent mine off forthwith!
I applied for mine on thursday night and I'm sure they said 4 days for the agreement to be with me, so hopefully something will be in the post tomorrow0 -
Ollielong and humper thanks for your replies. I'll try to visit our local branch.

Ok, so we have 0% on BTs for 9 months, and 6 weeks to make a BT.
So when does the 9 months start? Is it when the card is opened, or can it start at sometime within the 1st 6 weeks when the BT is applied?0 -

Most of the card issuers starts your 0% promo on account opening but I knew a few that will start their 0% promo period let's say BT for 9 months upon receiving your request for BT such as HSBC. Hope this helps.0 -
When I took my LTSB Platinum card out last year, the 9 months started when they debited the BT to my account - which was around 2 weeks after my account was opened.Richard_III wrote:Ok, so we have 0% on BTs for 9 months, and 6 weeks to make a BT.

I imagine, looking at the current T&C's, that the same applies now.0 -
I received a letter today asking me to return an agreement, they will then perform a credit check.
The account officially opens when the balance transfer amount is in your account, apparently, so basically, what yorkshireboy said."I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0 -

You're right. I should have bothered to read the T&C's.
I'll try for the card, wait 5 weeks and then do the BT. That should have given me 10 months on the Halifax card, then another 9 months on the LTSB (0% fee this time)
Thanks to the OP for the heads up on this.0 -
has anyone tried this who is an existing card holder? Am a bit confused as to whether you get the preferential rate or not as the wording is a bit contradictory. the website states:
Please note that introductory balance transfer and purchase offers are only available to new Lloyds TSB credit card customers.
If your new credit card application is accepted:
Your existing card account will be closed and replaced by the new card account under the new card terms and conditions.
The balance on your existing card account will be transferred to your new card account.
Important Information
£4.95 monthly fee on Premier Card. 2.5% fee (min £2.50) for balance transfers and cash advances, 2.75% fee for non-sterling transactions. Minimum payment: 2% (min £5) of monthly statement or if it is more, interest and Payment Protection Cover. Typical 15.9% APR variable
Does this mean I get the deal on the new card or not?
