The weather is not really cold yet, what are you going to do when it is cold and frosty mornings and nights..?.Wouldn't have thought you can put much more clothing on to sleep....;)

Been nice super sunny day today, so no heating, turning chilly now so now got the GCH on........

    Shegar,
Do you think I feel the cold more because of my medical condition, Kidneys and immune system problems?

I have been walking the streets of Durham City and then had to sit in a bus station for over an hour to get a bus home but it was warmer than the previous night and when I came home I found it warmer here too.

    No CH on today/tonight...

Going to buy some more 97p magnetic thermometers from Tesco's they also have kind of stand similar to a photograph frame so that you can stand them on a desk or a shelf.

They can also be put in the fridge too to see it is working correctly...

As write this post my bedroom is 16c(60.8f)

BTW I was in Durham watching the vocalist Stacey Kent, great concert but so far the shortest show I have seen in a long time...too long for me to get an earlier bus, too long so I had to catch the last bus home...

Update:3am 15c(59f)So still not too bad...no gloves on tonight, not in PJ's(actually in a short sleeved shirt and a cardigan)ordinary trousers, only concession being my thermal socks...kind of just tumbled into bed after my night out...

We live in south Lincolnshire in a new(ish) bungalow. Our sitting room is on the back facing south, with french windows leading on to a conservatory. As soon as the sun is up, we open the french windows and the heat from the conservatory keeps the whole bungalow warm - so free heat:j
When the sun goes down we just shut the doors to harness the heat.

It's a lovely day here today, so no need for the CH. Long may it continue.

Yes you may feel the cold a bit more, its hard to say as we are all different.......
Ive also got immune probs, type 1 diabetic for 37 yrs on insulin, arthritis, eye sight going, and kidney probs.............and a 24/7 carer for hubby........I do feel the cold at worst around 2 pm to 6 pm.???, dont know why, so I have to stoke the heating up around that time, yet when I go to bed I have window wide open one thin cotton sheet on and thats winter and summer..!!, so we are definately all different...........I move about a lot as I can rarely sit still.....

No heating on today its a beautiful calm sunny morning..........

I'm trying to make it as long as possible without putting heating on. Last few evenings I've had big jumper, blanket and hot water bottle whilst watching TV. It is still quite mild here in Somerset so I hope to get to November before it is necessary.

No heating on, although I have now put up my winter curtains at front door (opens straight into my living space), can't seem to measure curtain length to save my life , they are about 6 inches off the floor, so will add some fleece as a skirt.

I am using my small dehumidifier and that is certainly making a difference, the air is not so damp plus the damp dog smell is going. Have loads of quilts and woolly blankets plus a slanket on standby, so as long as it's not as bad as 2010, when I was wearing a hat and gloves indoors and temp was reading "warning of hypothermia", I should be ok. Not even wearing pj's yet, although that may be TMI. :o:rotfl:

    Thanks for that Byatt.
A year ago I bought some beautiful chenille curtain fabric, lining, pole etc and have done absolutely nothing with it all which is particularly shabby seeing as there has been a winter inbetween.

You have inspired me to crack on! (feel free to nag me to check that I've not got distracted by cheese though...)

Yes Shegar, my eyes are giving me problems and that's another worry too. I have lots of floaters and seem quite sensitive to bright light so often on sunny days prefer to be indoors and prefer to be in not such bright light:(

Doing an Iris! Getting free heat from the conservatory.

Had the heating on for about 30 minutes this morning as we had a frost but other than that last couple of nights no heating on at all.
