I don't see how that can happen without getting out of bed unless you have a teasmade (do such things still exist?).

It was a beautiful spring day today but now I am feeling the chill.

Living room storage heater switched off today for at least the next 3 days. Got to make the most of that free heat from solar gain. The first couple of hours might be chilly tomorrow morning. The kitchen may need a boost for 30 mins on cheap rate with the fan heater, but should be toasty by mid morning.

It is 16 in my living room so the heating is going on for the first time in ages!

not turned our GCH on yet (boiler was serviced and tested in August) but we used the log burner in lounge for 1st time this season last nite. Will hold out on GCH so long as the overnight temps don’t dip too low into single digits.

How can this be? I'm only down the road and it's perfectly temperate.

In fact its been a lovely warm autumn afternoon, I didn't need the "just in case" jacket I took with me when I went out for a walk at lunchtime.

it is warm outside when I went out earlier. It is my house! It is very old and we are in the North facing side usually.

We are going out for a dinner tonight and my husband put on a polo neck earlier and was going to bring his winter coat out and I said it isn’t as cold outside as it feels in our house!😆🤪

Nope. Not a chance its going on yet either.

Weather here outside Swansea is showing as 14 degrees but the sun is shining and I can see blue sky outside.

I think its due to get down to 4 degrees overnight but I wont be putting it on for as long as possible.

We have a small electric fire in the living room which we can put on for a quick blast but Im trying to hold off on the GCH for as long as possible. Especially with price rises coming!

I do have a slight saving grace though, we are in a council house and they replaced the insulation before Covid so its made a difference.

I also am in a semi detached house and have a reclusive friend living next door. I found out the other day from her kids that she is now bed bound with a heart condition and has her heating on 24/7 and so some of the heat passes through into our house.

I have made a shelf downstairs in the back porch to put a basket in with blankets, and I'm also on the lookout for some curtains for the living room. I currently have a blind there but I think having curtains would make it so much warmer. Also a rug as I have laminate floor and would like it to feel warmer under foot.

I do have a door curtain going from my living room to my kitchen to help retain heat too.

I do need to check our HWB though as well and maybe get some new ones.
