Is your heating ON or OFF?

It is incredibly wet and miserable here - feels cold even though it is still relatively mild. I could do with a dry and mild day for washing but it doesn't look like that particular combo will be forthcoming in the next fortnight.

On the plus side I have noticed that its is still light (just about!) at 4:30pm and I noticed a few clumps of daffodils waiting to bloom this morning. There is light at the end of this dim tunnel that is winter.

We have flooded roads. Aldi car park had a large pond. A workman had put a very small yellow pump in the middle with a hose to an opened drain cover and stood guard. The rain was pouring down, set in for the day, “the triumph of imagination over intelligence.”

Possibly doing the best that he could with the resources he had? 

I would have thought Aldi might put a bit more effort in, their whole model is one of a quick over leisurely shop so I can imagine that the thought of aquaplaning and damaged car electricals would put customers off.

He did a valiant job, nobody was driving or wading through the flood, it was hard to guess how deep it was,  and the store was able to stay open. He must have been very cold and wet.

No electricity today, the house went down to 12°C. Very grateful to the electrician who came out at the end of a busy day.
Not feeling so well, but I think that is due to the latest virus doing the rounds, rather than medical issues.

I feel chilly even though it wasn’t as cold today in Leigh-on-sea. I sneezed about 7 times earlier and then my husband sneezed twice. I have the heating switched on and my white fluffy blanket wrapped around me now.🥶

All of my storage heaters have been off for a couple of days now apart from my living room one. The living room is 18-20C and the rest of house around 13C with no sun, which is perfect for me. I'm still switching on my dehumidifers overnight on the cheap rate when I happen to wake in the wee hours.

I don't have working central heating and rely on a gas fire for my heating.

Not lit my gas fire today for the first time since November. I realised that I hadn't lit the fire back in November when it was colder than it was today so there was no justification for having the fire on, it had simply become what I did each day.
