The sun shone for a few hours and the radiators cooled. Thermostat steady at 17°C.

It is raining again today and we are very glad of the central heating.

Its supposed to be milder tomorrow to coincide with meteorological spring. I'm glad the worst is behind us for the next 8 months or so….

It has been a miserable weekend weather-wise!! We had a couple of wonderful days recently, the blossom and magnolias are blooming and I even clocked a neighbour's azalea that sprang into life overnight…. now it looks like a grey drizzly November again!

I haven't switched on the CH but had a carb-laden hot lunch followed by a steaming latte and apple turnover. Things would look different if the sun made an appearance.

My heating is on at 18. My gas will be off on Friday while works are done so I am hoping the day won't be a cold one.

I had my heating on for about an hour today as I wanted to wash my hair.

I am wearing a heated belt as I hurt my back and that is making me feel quite warm and cosy.🙂

Stormy weather today, and 8°-9°C for the next couple of days. Still wearing enough layers of clothing to be warm, plenty of hot drinks, mugs of homemade soup, and snuggling under rugs on the sofa to read. It should be getting warmer soon.

We have had the annual estimate for gas and electricity for 2026-2027, a small reduction to £1,270. We may or may not get the £200 Winter Fuel Allowance. We pay for what we use monthly by direct debit, getting some interest on our money until it is needed.

The Madmen and Specialists are likely to cause increases in fuel and energy prices.

i had an email from my energy supplier saying they were going to reduce my direct debit to £26 per month.next month. I was soon on the phone to them to tell them to leave it as it is. I think the problem arose because the flat Ive moved into was empy for about 9 months before I moved in so gas and electric was only used when my landlord was doing repairs to the property. Ive been with my energy company for 6 years but instead of using information from my previous bills they used previous bills from this property when it was empty. Some people could have just paid the new price and ended up in arrears. I could understand it if I had built up a large credit but it is only about £95 which is ok for this time of year as my heating is still coming on in the evening and early mornings as I keep the temperature at about 19 degrees in the day and 15 degrees overnight. Im glad Im on a fix until October hopefully energy prices will have settled by then

I was surprised how chilly and blustery it was yesterday. When I finally crawled into bed in the early hours I knew I had to warm it prior if I wanted to get to sleep easily. By now we should be enjoying a little more reliable mild weather.

Even though its very cold and windy outside my living room is quite warm without the heating on, but once the sun has goes away it gets chilly so my heating is still coming on after teatime. Im using my 3pint stone water bottle in my bed at night.. I usually put it in the bed about an hour before I go to bed and its still warm in the morning. Hopefully the weather will be a bit warmer soon.
