Was quite cold here yesterday because of clear skies, so got my slanket out for the first time this year! Looks ridiculous, but works a treat!

I put my heating on for 30mins today as it was a bit chilly.

I am really starting to worry about costs once winter really sets in, as its so expensive.

  • my heating is off.... the reason. the damn boilers on the blink again. My super fantastic magic gas man has brought it back to life 3 times in the last year, he said it might not be able to do it again, it really needs replacing. but we will give him a call and see if he can work his magic again... just need one more winter out of it...

Ive had the heating on and off for the past 2 weeks now, if its chilly it goes on for about an hour then off, we are very well insulated so the heat stays in very long after its turned off.........

I havent lit my fire yet, probaly start that in November time just of a night and turn the heating off when thats going.........

Ive been collecting free firewood all spring/summer and I just buy few bags of coal for the whole of winter just to get a good fire base, so near enough free fire every evening, trying my best to keep the costs down if poss, trouble is ive got a disabled hubby who cannot move much at all, so heating is a priority.............Got loads of fleece blankets etc, just have to do the best we can to keep warm......Like everyone else.......

Friday night at 9.30pm in PJ's, bedsocks, wearing fingerless gloves and under a duvet. What an exciting life I lead...
