The central heating is still off here, although we have been lighting the wood burner in the evenings. No plans to put the CH on anytime yet!December GC: £3500

Not on yet here in Essex. Top floor flat with a lot of glass, heats up like a greenhouse in the (relatively) sunny mornings that we've been having. Hot beverages, a sweater and a lap cat in the evenings.
Aiming to hold out until November.0 -
Still off here although open fire on every night. Don't feel too guilty as we are mainly burning wood we have cut and gathered ourselves. One bucket of coal is lasting us 2 -3 days if we also use plenty of wood. Kids went 'sticking' a couple of weeks ago so we've loads of kindling.
Fleecy pjs and bed socks out but hoping to last until November! We'll see...

Still OFF even though the OH tried to put it on the other night until I pointed out he was wearing shorts and a T-Shirt *sigh*
My eldest cat has be making a fuss about the chill at night by meowing outside the bedroom door, so put him in his 'jumper' (sleeve of old jumper measured to his waist, front leg holes made to fit without cutting into him, sewn edges on leg holes and waist to slow down fraying and jumpers cuff makes excellent elasticated neck hole).
Really hope to get to November, but have a feeling it's going to start getting much colder soon. The end of October could be bitter and never seen a November 5th where it wasn't cold, many bonfire nights bundled up to the eyes as a tot waving a sparkler and trying to inch as close to the bonfire as possible lol~"I don't cook so much since we moved out of reality...."~0 -
Kept it off today but the house is b***** freezing and I probably should have my brushed cotton pj's on and dressing gown seeing I have sat up a bit tonight rather than staying under the duvet.
My hands are cold so I probably should have put on my fingerless gloves so I can still hit the keys.
Perhaps a mug of coffee will warm me up.
Talked to NPower today at last they are supplying both the electric and gas and people keep saying don't be cold put the heating on but what if you have little income?
To do electric and gas I do now which is very little added to water rates, food, internet(have to have some entertainment)a phone line would cost £40 a week at least but if things change as is likely next year I will have to find an extra £26 for bedroom tax and if DLA is scrapped and replaced the alterntaive is 20% less and you may not receive it after a medical assessment.
So you may be on something like ESA of some kind or JSA and have very little for emergencies and may find you are paying quite a bit of Council Tax too.
I have said elsewhere and it may not work I may have to try and get a lodger in. And hope I can chage enough to cover the reduction in income."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
