I hae mine on for an hour on the morning, and its off for most of the day, coming back on at 5pm for us coming in from work and nursery. then goes off about 9pm. it sits about 19 degrees at night, but I put it down to 15 in the morning, just to take the chill off the house.Saving 2.00 coinsGrocerys set to 40.00 pwBeing Thrifty0

I'm afraid I'm totally rubbish and have succumbed to whacking the heating on (I'm freezing, despite wearing thermal leggings under my jeans and layers on top). Have put the heating on, to 19deg - 20degrees.
On that point, what temperature do people tend to put their heating up to when in, typically?
You're not totally rubbish, you're cold. If you need the heating on and you can afford it then crack on, I say.
I'm a hardy sort, I've had to be because I have no money for luxuries like heating, so 15 degrees feels quite balmy to me these days.
I reckon, if you're used to a warm home, and 20 is warm to me, you could experiment by turning it down one degree at a time. When it's not warm enough, turn it up.
I don't think I've had the heating on since I got back from my sister's over Christmas, so that's a result. AND I've still got my leccy blanket and thermal undies as back-up, so come on God, bring it on!0 -

Feels a little colder today, still incredibly mild for the season, but cooler than yesterday. Its Thursday that it's meant to turn cold again I think, so I'll bring wood in tomorrow for the woodburner so I'm prepared.0

I thought my electric would be horrendous as have been using a dehumidifier on and off for a few months, but it's fine. I'll stop worrying about using it now!
Gas is in credit by a fair amountI know the last time I put my heating on was the 18th December as i'd been out that day and couldn't get warm, but it hasn't been on since and prior to that it had only been on a handful of times.
Thanks throw and hot water bottle!
How much is your dehumidifier costing to run? I've recently got a new one and it's on most of the time but I'm a bit worried about cost.
I didn't have the heating on yesterday and it's still off today so hopefully a few NHDs in a row!0 -
