Is your heating ON or OFF?

17.5 in LR at moment, the suns coming out so should get warmer,I'm fine at these temps with a thermal vest, couple of layers on top and my fleecey dressing gown. When I'm doing house work I may have to remove DG,temps lower than 15 would only be bearable if I was moving around ,watching TV etc I would have to wrap up in a blanket with dogs cuddled up to me.Thankfully my house is well insulated so with this milder winter has rarely droped below 15 I'm very lucky.0

I dont really pay attention to what temp the house is. Our rule us if were sensibly dressed and still cold we out it in for a bit. However it gets so hot we never have it on for more than two hours really."More people would learn from their mistakes if they weren't so busy denying them." - Harold J. Smith:cool:0

TBH if I was on my own and didn't have kids I would never put the heating on. I am home alone throughout the day and have never put the heating on for just me, even when its been subzero outside. As soon as the kids are dressed and ready to be off I switch it off and it doesn't go on again until they are all home. It gets switched off the minute they have had baths and are tucked up in bed. I personally hate central heating, I get very flushed quickly and need to take layers off as soon as it goes on. I was raised in a house that was only heated with a little gas fire that was rarely on full, I think I have just adjusted to the cold. I rarely get ill.0

I havent had it on for days now. Can also dry washing as it is really windy.
Hope this keeps up0 -
I've even treated my cat to a pad you heat in the microwave, to help keep him warm & snug at night. A brilliant invention for pets, it keeps warm for at least 13 hours I've found & is even ideal for people who want to keep certain areas of their bodies warm in the cold weather.
Oh, I think I need to invest in one of those pads. My boy Stanley recently discovered my hot-water bottle. As soon as it goes under the covers to warm up the bed he's under there too so I have to fight him to get in there sometimes. Still a hottie on my toes and a pusscat warming my tummy is so very comforting if only he wouldn't wriggle about so much.0 -
I haven't had mine on the last couple of days. I've had the windows open today all day. I was pretty warm when decluttering but then I had my fleecy PJ bottoms on and a zip up so that's most likely why.
I'm sat having a coffee now and it's a bit chillier so I'll close the windows but the heating won't be going on. I have my fleecy dressing gown and blanket down here and if push comes to shove my duvet on the couch. Bed has an electric blanket but I've yet to use it this year the mattress topper has been enough. I have a hot water bottle though so it'll be fine.
I don't know the temperature indoors and my boiler doesn't have a thermostat either it's just a knob you put to whatever level you like. I go by if I'm cold when all snuggled up but I only put it on if my boy's in, if not it doesn't go on at all.Credit Card: £796 Left/£900 October 2011 :eek:Store Card: £100 October 2011

I'm afraid I'm totally rubbish and have succumbed to whacking the heating on (I'm freezing, despite wearing thermal leggings under my jeans and layers on top). Have put the heating on, to 19deg - 20degrees.
On that point, what temperature do people tend to put their heating up to when in, typically?~* The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams - Eleanor Roosevelt *~HSBC Overdraft (Jan 2012): £(1,378) :mad:M&S CC: £0

My little dog Sophie is the same, so I solved the problem by buying her a hot water bottle of her own so she leaves mine alone. She lies over it completely and doesn't let any heat escape so even if I have to chuck mine out hers doesn't bother meNeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

Heating on between 2 and 4 hours a day. I am wearing layers (always a Winter Policy), eating hot food (only way) and drinking hot water and milk ( a good way to have a hot drink without any particular tea and coffee etc content).
The Weather is mild atm but as soon as we get really bad weather I will retire to the bed and reallocate my daily activity to there to save on fuel as Living room is much colder than being in bed in my bedroom.
I now own a Thermometer one of those that advises you to put heating on, as much as turning it off on my living room and am contemplating buying more.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001R4XE1U so I am now able to monitor room tempreture for safety and health reasons. As an lifelong asthmatic I cannot endure temps that are too hot or too cold. Too hot and I am needing fresh air, too cold and my teeth get sensitive.
I try to run heater in offline hours. Those evil companies have set off peak hours to such an anti-social hours that I think one has to turn it on at 1am in the Morning to get off peak, otherwise the little swearwords pressurise you to have to put it on at peak hours.
Temps in home have ranged from 15 degrees cool (bedroom heater not turned on!) to comfortable high 21 degrees.
Lets see what the weather throws up as Jan/Feb Winters come to South east England.#TY Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

We've still got our heating on low for 24/7, but this evening we've also got a lovely fire going in the lounge using free wood.0
