Is your heating ON or OFF?

Since the 1st December, we've been having ours on for about 3 hours a day on timer. It comes on just before we get up, and is on for an hour, then another hour early evening so it's warm when we get home from work, then another hour later in the evening if needed, the rest of the time it's extra layers and a thermal blanket wrapped round us if sitting watching tv. We also have our fleecy underblanket on the bed, which makes it very cosy, and I've taken to wearing my thick slipper-socks to bed, totally sexless, lol, but at least my feet are warm, and I even lay my thick dressing gown across the bottom of the bed to keep my feet a bit warmer!Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

Yes!! I don't have any central heating, so the rooms can get cold, I just heat the one room that i'm in, although haven't felt the need to use any heating so far. Just had a shower, and feel quite hot now!!
My kitchen got down to 8 before the warm spell, ans at nine today, we're bound to be down there with you soon.My sitting room does get toasty, and cooking can lift the kitchen temperature pleasantly.

New woodburner in our new looking dining room. DH decorated and sanded the floors. I only helped varnish the floors as spent a day and a half cleaning up the sawdust that got everywhere.0 -

It is absolutely freezing in here, 1 degree according to my thermometer!!! I refuse to put the heating on though, little on is snug as a bug in his bed with an extra blanket and I have PJs, fleecy blanket and duvet on the couch. It is really cold but the cost is astronomical so I only use the heating during the day.Credit Card: £796 Left/£900 October 2011 :eek:Store Card: £100 October 2011

Ours is on it's showing 2.8 degrees outside and we've had to have the heating on since 6pm, I'm switching it off at 9.30pm and that should keep us warm until bedtime. Why pay full price when you may get it YS0

Another day with it off, although it does take longer for the washing to dry!
I nearly flicked it on early but stuck a jumper on instead of just sitting round in a t-shirt and i've been toasty ever since - although i'm off to bed in a minute and it's always colder upstairs!
We've got a yellow warning for snow in the North West so we'll see how cold it gets... that's a yellow warning for snow, not a warning for yellow snow...0
