On just now but I'm way too warm, went on quite early tonight.....glad to see the forecast night temperatures are much higher for the next few days so hoping to sneakily turn it off without DKs moaning!
As a side note, with all the people holding out and not putting their heating on yet, it made me wonder if I was one of the first to have it on - I woke up one night in August (!) absolutely shivering, got up and put it on for an hour, of course by the end of that time I was flinging the duvet off...:o:o:o0 -
Well, we've had some of our rads switched on for a short time. Dining room has no carpet in as of Saturday just gone and we discovered one reason it was always cold in there. Huge gaps between the patio doors and floorboards:eek: Why on earth the carpet fitters never thought to tell us when they laid new carpet and underlay many years ago I'll never know.
Anyway, it's d day on Thursday as the men start work on our woodburner installation:)0 -
Still of here but I'm not being hardy it just isn't cold enough here yet.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

was cold last night, but i'm still toasty after a hot bath so when i get into bed i'm chilling down.. the bedroom window's still open for the time being. i know some of you think i'm mad, but i love breathing in cold air. one tip for all - use flannel bedding. it really does make a huge difference!0

We are having new carpet laid in our lounge. I am off in a minute to see whether we have gaps under our patio doors!0 -
After a cold day yesterday, I had to turn on my lounge storage rad last night. I was going to turn it on on sunday but forgot so had a cold day.
I will turn the kitchen one on when it gets a bit colder.Know the difference between what you WANT and what you NEED. :T0 -

I turned on my portable gas heater last night for the first time on a low setting for a couple of hours.
The room dropped to 12C as it was damp with no sun at all yesterday. No heating on at the moment, but the plumber is currently working downstairs on my new central heating system which should be finished by tomorrow evening, so I can start using most days.0 -
I succumbed - put the heating on last night. The kids were cold, I was cold (had goosebumps under my clothes which I HATE) and so it was lovely to pop the heating on and feel warm again. It came on this morning (DH promptly switched the boiler back off again) - I'll just use it as and when needed. Seems milder outside again now.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0
