Went on a 6am , went off just before 8am. Am going onto ebay now to look for a pair of door curtains and poles for the front and back doors, as even though they are double glazed etc , its still blooming freezing near them.Paul Walker , in my dreams;)0

I set mine to come on this morning for the first time, mainly because my dd school uniform was still damp last night from washing it Saturday morning.
The odd thing was I actually felt colder this morning getting up and dressed than I have any other morning with the heating off ?!?0 -
Absolutly baltic this morning so the heating went on for an hour or so to warm the place up,I've got the heating off completely in the bedroom but on in the living room & hall.As I live in a smallish two bed apartment, the hall radiator provides enough heat to warm the rest of the flat.0

Was a total white out this am here, cars needed scraping at 7 am but it had gone at 8am when I walked Ds to school, but he pinched my gloves! Better find some more.
Came home and peeled and chopped veg and put bread maker on, did ironing, but washing on rack. But then made the mistake of going out and sweeping leaves, my hands were freezing. Then went to see mil and make her lunch, do physio and take dog for a walk.
Came home and had warm bread and hot chilli for lunch and hot cuppa. Now in bed with electric blanket on!
Not had my heating on yet this winter, but think I better put it on before I collect ds from school.
Think we will be having lots of early nights with electric blankets for all!0 -
Our heating is still off so far, need to keep it off as long as possible as hubby has just taken a wage cut of £400 per month so things are going to be really tight for a while!Have been using lots of candles, house is well insulated and the kids are loving the hot water bottles and hot chocolate drinks at bedtime! All tips on this thread have been helpful thanks to everyone who posts.october gc-£74.80/ £200

Another option might be making one room, say the sitting room, snuggly enough for cuddly reading or even tv watching so you get time together and still aren't heating the whole house? An MSE chum suggestted to me having an electric blanket on the sofa to snuggle warmly in the coldest weeks, I think its a good idea for me.0 -
DH lit the fire this morning as I am bread making. its really warm in here, but cold and foggy outside.0

Ohhhh myyyy, it's chilly today. Frost went by around 9am but I'm absolutely baltic and just popped out to check the thermometer - currently 4 deg.

Didn't seem that bad when I got up at half 5. Back door was open for the dogs, heating off and everything seemed ok.
Car needed de-icing when i was setting off for work and it wasn't exactly warm outside.
Hopefully it's not going to get too cold when I'm in the house, until i've sold my old fish tank which is currently blocking the radiator in the lounge0 -
First frost of the year this morning. I might have to put the heating on for an hour or so this evening.0
