  • Have been waiting for 1st November to put the heating on, but, barring a sudden freeze, I'll let it stay off, with a new aim of holding out until at least the second week of the month.

It's not exactly warm here at the moment, but wearing extra layers is still enough. I know that now I'm an old granny of 70..... (can this be true - I feel about 21 most of the time?!)..... I must be sensible, but I'm sure I'm fine.

Off to bed soon with my hottie - though I'll probably throw it out once I've really warmed up!

Ours is on but only for drying out purposes which seem to be going really well.

I woke up on the sofa an hour ago so went whizzing around doing the little jobs that i meant to do last night before going to bed.
DH appears to have made it to bed at some stage but we were both so tired last night that we must have just zonked out lol

I have another load of washing in now which should be mostly done before the E7 electricity clicks over onto normal rate, hope the weather is fine to hang it outside.

Yesterday was spent moving furniture around upstairs and also moving around lots of rubbish so we`ve had a huge clearout for the charity shop.
We both have today off work too so will be carrying on with jobs upstairs as it all needs to be done today - reason being we now have a plasterer coming tomorrow YAY!

The little bedroom has never been touched since we moved in so we`ve stripped the paper back, removed the built in wardrobes (which were a bit of a horror) and half the plaster fell off the walls lol The plasterer is coming first thing tomorrow so we have to get the rest of the paper and the skirting boards etc off today, if i remember correctly plaster shouldn`t be dried with heat so its looking like the dehumidifier will end up in that room in a couple of days and then the heating can take care of the rest of the upstairs so even though its nice and warm outside atm mine will stay on a low setting.

Think i`d best go for a browse now cos i`m rambling again :o

    Have good warm days everyone!

Mild again here. :) Looking back it really has been a very disconcerting year for fluctuating temperatures.

Its forecast to be 16c all week here so I can't see it going on this week :j My TV in the living room doesn't work so I spend a lot of time in my bedroom with the little telly or in my small cosy office on the PC so I'm not feeling the chill in the evenings. My living room is a cold room, I suspect if I was sitting in there all evening the heating would be on by now. I'm over £200 in credit with BG so I'm well pleased!:T

Have you all remembered to get spare batteries for your CH thermostats?

  • We've never needed any heating yet,it realy has been that warm.
Even when its been a little bit chilly of an evening a throw on the sofa has sufficed.
It's just as well realy since after looking through my energy bills my gas is now costing me three times what it did this time last year and my electric two and a half times more.
    Unbelievable:eek:.

Still of as of the first of november :D Quite happy about that.

Found last night that a thick soup does a pretty damn good job of heating us too! And the flannelette sheets we have have helped on the bed no end!

Just as well really, leccy costs far too much!
    On the up :D

  • I cant believe how mild it still is. Apart from needing the heating on for half an hour on sunday night (kids bath night) we havent needed it on. So pleased to have reached the 1st November without it being on on if that makes sense lol.

I shall be leaving it off until its actually needed (apart from bath night unless its mild enough to not warrant the heating on for bath time).

Shame I still have to use the tumble dryer though boo!
