I put the heating on for a bit on Saturday evening and switched it off at bedtime. I nearly put it on again this morning as my hands were seizing up, then I discovered that DD1 had left the bathroom window wide open! It's warmed up considerably since I closed it. It's cold and blowy outside though and will probably rain later.

    Mine's staying off!
I gave a meter reading last night online, and it dropped my owed balance down £90 from their estimated total.

    Three options:
1 - turn the heating on
    2 - feed her pies
3 - drag her upstairs and give her a quick workout to warm her up

  • Last night I was really hot (temperature wise, I hasten to add) and was glad we still had the summer (4.5tog) duvet on. The quilted throw was kicked off the bottom of the bed. This morning I went into town in jeans, s/s Tshirt and jacket and was far too hot. It's blowing a gale now and seems to be getting into all the crooks and nannies, so might have the heating on tonight for an hour at 18c. But....only might, and the rads in the bedrooms are turned off anyway, with windows open all night.
    Normal people worry me.

Heating still hasn't been on here since last winter. Our lounge gets fairly cold though so we have put the fire on during a few evenings of sitting about. But I figure an hour or two running the gas fire is cheaper than putting the heating on throughout the house (???).
