We're thinking of putting on the wood burner, and , gulp, an electric heater to get a room warm and bathing the dogs. Will dry the hairy one with a hair dryer too....haven't decided quite yet, it might be a job for the morning.

    You`re braver than me :D

I`d be doing a good brush and save the bathing for the middle of summer when they can dry in the garden in the sun :D

    Good luck :D

We have our heating on for 30 mins in the morning and 30 mins at night (must remember to change settings as the clocks change tonight!) - mainly just to make sure the pipes don't freeze and to allow for hot running water when we need a wash. Actually had some of the windows open today to circulate some air!

We have two fleeces which lay on our sofa, I say they're for the dog but if I feel cold, I just pull one over my shoulders. Wish the hubby would do the same. My sister bought me a snuggy last year, will have to look that out too!

Started comping too - no luck yet!

we got out of the habit over summer because dog-dog had a cast on for eight/nine weeks. But she's a stinky girl with slightly iffy skin. before we moved to the wreck she used to hop in the shower with me every week-fortnight. The other dog, Big dog, is not a ''odiferous'' person, but she's old, and her coat is definitely holding odour and less ....nice. Its also a bit longer than it should be, but I'm not doing anything about it until spring, because it will keep her warm. they both quite like a bath ...weird things....but aren't keen on being dried with a hair dryer.

But.,....think I'll not do it tonight any way, in a morning, with the opportunity to give them a run after they are dry to make 100 percent sure they are warm. I don't feel brilliant tonight though, and dh has been working from home today, so very sedantary.

Quite mild here in London today. I went out with only a light sweater and fleece jacket on and came home feeling hot and a bit sweaty. Windows open now. :)
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

Hope that you`re feeling better and more up to the bathing tomorrow :D
Little oldie pongs a bit but its his breath _pale_ his teeth arn`t brilliant but he`s far too ancient for any type of treatment. He did have awful skin but after some advice we decided to give it a go, reluctantly we never gave him a bath and after about two years his skin has now cleared up and the natural oils have regulated themselves ( he went nasty and oily for a while) and he`s happy and clean and just gets brushed.

The younger one has never had a bath and just gets brushed, shes got a beautiful coat now, its a good job really as she would be absolutely impossible to bathe  DH & i used to joke that one day we would take her to a groomers and hide around the corner to watch what happened :rotfl:

I could tell you some stories about bathing some of the other dogs that we`ve had in the past that would keep you laughing for days lol

Well the washing is almost dry and the dehumidifier needs emptying so all in all it was worth putting the heating on for a while. The temp is already falling fast so i may decide to turn the stat down and leave it be for later. The curtains will be closed and the candles lit in an hour or so. The kitchen will be warm as i`m planning some cooking tonight :D

I've decided to let the thermostat decide and it is set at 19, so not stupid high.

After we put it on I sat by the radiator stroking it! :o:p
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Not needed to put the heating on here yet at all and the weather looks set to get a little warmer this week, so will last into Nov for sure. Have no intention of letting the house get cold this year though as other half is on maternity leave with our three month old dd.
