Managed without the heating last night but the temperature must have really dropped overnight, despite my window being open quite wide, it was all steamed up this morning as were other windows in the house. Had to blow the colour changing candle out last night the smell was quite overpowering. I will try my yankee wax tart this evening.
Have a lovely day, keep warm.

Ours was on yesterday evening, as DH didn't feel well, but he switched it off again last night and it's not that cold today. We are hoping not to put it on properly until November.0

My sofa's are now in their winter position, i.e. in the middle of the room away from all the radiators to take full advantage of the warmth when the heating is on.
I've just moved mine too - I hate having it pulled right out but the only radiator is on the only long wall where the sofa will fit.
Chilly here this morning .... only up to 5 deg now brrrrrrr hands are feeling a bit cold and scarf is on keeping my neck warm!:DGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Meant to say ... job for the day is going to try to build a cave for the wee cat out of a cardboard box.
She's got a "proper" cave bed downstairs that she sleeps in during the day in the winter and has started using it again the last week or so.
Upstairs she's got a proper bed but it's open - she's now allowed in my bedroom (big cat goes nuts as it's "his" room) and she was trying to get into the towel cupboard last night so think she's feeling the cold a bit.
There's never any heating on in her room and it's also where I dry the clothes so need to try to come up with something for her.
If I see another cave bed cheap (got her other one for £2.99 @ Home Bar*gains but not seen them there recently) I'll get her one but meantime .....
So.... I'm joining the ranks of taking pity on the pets before myself!:oGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Still no need for heating yet :j a beautiful day here in Lancashire, windows open, out for a walk later. Bit of condensation on the bedroom window this morning so must have been cold during the night but I was snuggly and warm with flannelette sheets, summer weight duvet and a fleece throw. I never ever have heating on during the night.GC - Oct £36.17/£31

Don't need the woodburner today (the cat who was cold has stayed in bed this morning)but it really did make a difference yesterday. The rest of the house is suffering from some condensation and keeping damp at bay in this old, cracked house is going to remain my issue this year.
dh is coming home this weekend, so I'll see how he feels in the house before making any decision: his flat is so horribly over heated (outside his control) that he may find the change to temps here too much to cope with without the woodburner.0 -
Off. It's a lovely sunny day here.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0

No CH on yet, but DD and DGSs came yesterday and when we all came in from town I put the gas fire on, as I didn't want them to feel the cold. When they left a couple of hours later I made a note to myself to switch it off as soon as I had waved them off - but the phone rang as I came back in - a friend for a quick chat (which got longer). All I could think of was the gas burning away! With my close friends I would have said "Hang on", and gone and switched it off, but she jumped in with a new topic each time I was going to do it (or say goodbye and end the call!)
Embarrassing to have to admit to being so mean!
Anyway, I did get it off in the end, and was reasonably comfortable for the rest of the evening!Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!0
