  • What a wuss - I just had to put it ON about half an hour ago. My Tesco thermometer was reading 12 degrees, but when I put the thermostat on it click on below 10 degrees. Got it set to 15 at the moment to take the edge off, then will switch it off again.

Still off! Just gone up to almost 15deg, but it was 12 when we got up.

Me and DS aged 2 are keeping warm by being silly and we're about to go for a walk, it always feels warmer coming in from outside.

I've had the oil-filled radiator on evenings and mornings lately and today I put the gas heating on very low but turned it off cos it got a bit milder. I am fed up being chilly and having damp laundry so it's only a matter of time till I stick it on, my trigger finger is itching to hit the on button! :D

I am so confused with all the threads I frequent and forget who is on which one (and I have had to give up trying to keep up - twas a full time job and my repetitive strain has flared up again -grrrr). But Mardatha, if you're there - did they come and sort your heating out?
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

I`ve just been outside and can feel the temperature starting to plummet, the gizmo says 11 now and 18 inside. The heating hasn`t clicked on all day but now i`ve stopped moving about it seems colder than the thermometer reads indoors.

I`ve washing on the rads now so if they do click on later i should be getting more than just heat for my money :p

Mine was on yesterday morning but turned it off last night as the heat from the cooker was enough to keep us warm along with a fleece blanket last night. Set it again for this morning btu when I got up I found it really warm (was only set to 17oc). I think I will leave it off again tonight as we have friends over so the body heat will keep us warm lol. Will again set it for tomorrow morning but change it to 15oc as it is really really cold without the heating on.

The central heating should be back in working order by Sunday. We have had the gas fire on (Wednesday) but it was ok last night. Have the oilfired radiator on low in the diningroom at the moment as the plasterer has been here today (will finish tomorrow) and it is so cold in there, hoping some gentle heat will help it dry a bit.

  • DS put central heating on one night while we were away (early September) otherwise it`s not been on at all. I do light a fire some evenings - just for the cheer, but not till about 7 or later. Usually find it too warm if I`m cooking as well.
