Still not on here yet but I think I will have to have it on next week - kids home for half term.
We have had wood burner on 2 evenings in the last fortnight & then got too hot!
I cannot remember going so long without heating - normally I try & last until 1st October, but so far have not been too cold - nothing a thick jumper couldn't cure.Declutter 2023 110/520

Very pleased have managed to avoid putting the heating on today as it's very nippy! Slippers, and an extra jumper for me. OH is working late or he would have put the heat on when he got in knowing him, but since he's not here it's a blanket-with-sleeves thing for me!So, there are these boys,
They kinda stole my heart,
They call me Mummy

We got the new stove in, but the builder comes tomorrow to cement it in and fix the flue into the chimney, so although its sitting there looking nice and cosy, there's a bloody great hole in the wall behind it and its baltic in here . Have clothes on, dressing gown on top, and a HWB on my lap.
But just wait till you have cured it - this time next week you will be sitting in your undies toasted:eek::D

Mine has been on this week for about hour and half in the mornings as ive been looking after my 4 mth old grandson so needed to take the chill off, then its been on for 2 hours this evening. Also had the convector heater on in the kitchen as that room is the coldest in this house and it made it lovely and toasty
Last day tomorrow of looking after him so the heating wont be on as much on friday till the kids get home from school.
I will lose 2 stone by this summer!!!!!!0 -
Our heating is on, comes on in the morning about 5.30am and goes off about 7.30am, comes back on at 3pm and off about 11pm. Thermostat is set to 20deg, I found that by doing this I made a substantial cut on our dual fuel bill, reduced from £200 per month to about £157 and a £200 refund at review time. I have invested in heavy duty fur (type) blankets from Costco and in times of extreme cold we just put the fire on in the living room rather than increase the heat in the rest of the house. The radiators have thermostats on them but most are turned up to six with the exception of one of the ones in our bedroom because it makes such a noise when the heating comes on in the morning and wakes me up.£2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far
+ however may £2 coins I have saved in my Terramundi since 2000.

Ours went on today for the first time today, its been a bit chilly for a couple of weeks but seemed to have really turned cold the past two days. I wanted to hold out till November as I can imagine if its anything like last year it will still be on till end of April, and it seems crazy to have to have heating on for 6 months of the year! Its not too bad as OH works nights so its only for an hour or so in the morning and maybe a couple in the evening as I tend to be in bed by 9 , then we usually light a coal fire at weekends when we are here most of the day, which is really toasty . I cant help but wonder what it was like many years ago when there was no CH and only one coal fire and no electric blankets, makes me shiver at the thought...Brrrrrr....Dont wait for your boat to come in 'Swim out and meet the bloody thing'0
