Thats what I have too, an electricity monitor with a temperature display. Its in the kitchen, which is why I only report the kitchen temperature. It is interesting though how the house varies in temperature throughout.

I've moved mine to my son's room & it's 2 degrees colder there than in the front room.

Outside temp right now is 5.8c brrrrrrrrrrrrr! -NE Scotland

Heating cannot go on as it's horrid stupid electric storage heaters that we cannot afford to run :/ fella is off to buy a Halogen heater and I am considering buying an old fashioned free standing eletric fire, I don't care if it looks retro and awful, I want to be warm! Thick curtains have been put up at the window in lounge this afternoon.

I am sitting wrapped in an eiderdown, wearing thick tights, thick socks, jeans, vest top, dress and 2 cardigans and a hat!

ETA just checked the met office and tomorrow will struggle to get above 3c and on Friday we are due 14c?! that seems a bit out to me pmsl!!

Mine is excellent, got it from Lidls for £5.99 it tells you the temperature inside, and through a small battery powered transmitter it tells you the temperature outside, as well as recording the maximum and minimums.

It also has a radio controlled clock which is correct to GMT.

The offer seems to come around a couple of times a year.

Well our max today has been 5.4 deg:eek: - I'm bloomin' freezing and off for a bath in a minute to thaw out my poor feet which have been like blocks of ice all day (have on 1 pair thin wool socks, 1 pair slipper socks & 1 pair thick wool socks but they're still cold) and I'm not allowed to use a HW bottle on them just now .... I'm supposed to be using ice-packs to reduce the swelling ....

The heating is on as the house got down to 10 deg:eek: and I can't move around / do housework etc :( (great one Linda32, that's what I normally do to warm up;)) so at least it's starting to warm up a bit now.

Hope it does get back up to 14 deg by the end of the week....:)

We have a portable gas fire for the kitchen. I know a bottle of gas is a bit dear but we don't have it on all the time, and at least we pay for it as we go along - failry takes the chill off fast.

Btw, i'm in the NE Scotland too and even though it might've said 5.8C it definitely doesn't feel that warm! It's baltic!

My daughter told me today that my nose was running. It was just so cold I never felt it. :o
