Off here just now but I'm swithering, 9 outside 15 inside and i can't get warm at the minute feet feel like ice and I've felt sick since getting up. Had water bottle on lap and dressing gown on top of clothes, it's dreich here rained constantly all day and is dark and gloomy:(. Will light my candles later. Oh what does DH and DD mean ?

DH = dear husband, DD = dear daughter, DS = dear son. You get the drift. ;)

It's now after 4 and apart from the 2 hours this morning i'm chuffed I haven't had to put it on again this afternoon. For me this is very good! It's miserable and 6C out and i've on short sleeves and i'm not cold. It's a miracle!

My heating is still off. I say heating, we only have a fire in the living room. The rest of the house is unheated. People are mortified when you tell them you don't have central heating but we are so much healthier. We haven't had a cold for years.

May I just say how much I love your sig quote :P

As for us, we don't have "central" heating but rather room-by-room night storage (pile of rubbish) - and they're all off. Hoping to move before we have to put on the heating!

Well, on Friday night I gave and put the fire on (CH can wait a week or two yet I hope) but only because OH was sat on the sofa wearing my cardigan, hugging a brew and trying to convince, nay bribe, one of the cats to curl up in his lap. Turned the lights off and lit some tealights to make it feel cosy.

I need to invest in a big jumper for him!
  • Still off here . . . not sure how long it will last though! getting very chilly in the morning!

I put ours on half an hour ago. It's so cold. I find that I don't want to get up and do any housework when it's too cold, so the house has been very neglected today.
  • Still haven't put CH on but I have been very tempted today. DH came home from work and was going on about how cold it was and as he went to go upstairs I saw him look longingly at the thermostat :rotfl:

    ON

Evenings only though at the moment and possibly for just a couple of hours or so. It's blowing a chuffin hooley out there right now, I had flipping straw billowing about all over the show while I was doing the stables out and I have put the fleeces on the horses tonight. By Wednesday they have said that the temps are going to drop like a stone :(

I am aiming to keep the central heating off as long as possible, at least until December. Will light one fore only in one room until then and then only if temp drops below 17 degrees in the day inside. My horses are still out 24/7 but are going nice and furry and fluffy. I've just come in from checking on them. Going dark way too early now. Does anyone know when the clocks go back BTW?
