Off, but no sacrifice since here in London the weather is quite good so far, today has been a very mild day. A few evenings have been a bit chilly but we have managed by adding a woolen blanket on top of our quilt and when sitting in the living room watching TV I have wrapped myself in a nice plaid rug (bought this summer in a charity shop just for this purpose!). If all goes well we are aiming for no heating until 1st November at least.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

That when I aim for ... I try to keep to the rule of no heating till November; kinda feels like its really winter when the month is November!
However I may have to put a plug in heater in DD's room. She has 2 external walls and her room is freezing and everything feels damp. Have put blankets over the windows today to try and last a little longer with no heating in there .... does that make me a cruel mother?!

You would be much more cruel if you couldn't pay the heating bill and were cut off. Or ended up in so much debt you lost your home.

I have seen these things first hand in the last recession and the impact on the children is awful.

You do what you have to do to keep the wolf (aka the bailiffs) from the door
  • Still OFF and will remain so unless the temperature drops below -stupid deg C. Seriously, even last winter the heating was off (as the boiler was condemned) so we just used the woodburner and the AGA in the kitchen. The whole house stayed lovely and warm.

Currently 20C in here at the moment (South West UK).

Still off - it was 18 degrees here today and it has dropped to about 8 tonight, and watching the farming forecast for the week a short time ago says its going to remain quite mild and dry here, so hopefully I can report the same next SUnday evening!

that's good...but I would also point out that your aga and your woodburner are heat sources nd so ''heating''. I too, this winter only have a woodburner and that's what I consider my heating. :)

I'm just concious that people with no heating on but the option for it will wonder if they are going mad that they can't cope.
