Is your heating ON or OFF?

I have been wrapping up warm in the house with pjs, a snuggly dressing gown and fluffy slippers. On occasion I have also had a crocheted blanket and cats over me. Currently refusing to put the heating on as we have a long way to go and the prices are so high. As soon as I am cold with all those layers a hot water bottle and a warm drink then the heating will go on!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

I went last winter using an electric blanket, and only heating the house when it was under 5C.
I turned it on today after several months of warmth.0 -
But like Babyshoes, I grew up in a warm climate so feel the cold so I don't know how successful I wll be.
My DH is the same - he grew up in Africa and doesn't like the cold. Mind you, you can still be susceptible to the cold even if you've been brought up in our climate. It takes about a week for your body to properly acclimatise to the difference in temperature. Liking is is a different kettle of fish thoughI don't like any extremes of temperature - cold or hot is not nice, but pleasantly warm will do me. I didn't like the heat of Africa. It was nice when it got down to 20c though.

It's pretty warm here - I've still got the summer duvet on the bed (4.5 tog) although I did put a thin throw over it a couple of days ago. It's not cold enough to get the thicker duvet out of storage yet.
Not had any heating on yet but today I am wearing an extra layer of thin fleece sweater and socks/slippers inside and I'm toasty warm(Mind you, most of the windows are open - I love fresh air even if it is cold!)
I agree that this isn't some sort of masochistic "I can hold out longer than you" competition - there are so many variables with regard to homes, heating systems, personal circumstances etc.etc.
I just hope that everyone can manage to stay as warm as they want to :T0 -
im determind not to put mine on till late october, instead put another layer on and thick socks n slippers, i have bad circulation.Trying to make big cut backs!!!

havent felt the need to have the heating on yet, im in the SE and even though the temp has dropped it still feels warm in the house, which is surprising as my house is usually freezing so dreading another bad winter this year:(. Im hoping to hold out till end of sept before the CH goes on, i have to turn mine on manually as well as i have no wall thermostat so only have trv's which i hate and cannot get along with.I will lose 2 stone by this summer!!!!!!0
